It had been at least a dozen years since I last visited the area, but one of my favorites, The Homestead, was still around and I was looking forward to dining at a place so full with good memories. Thanksgiving dinner did not disappoint. The dinner was excellent, turkey moist, stuffing was flavorful and the fresh cider on the table... More

There are numerous formal (although comfortable) dining rooms throughout this restaurant - one has a large fireplace that burns wood - others utilize gas. Charming set up! Nice lounge (tavern/pub) with wood stove. Good selection of tap beer. Seafood Chowder was good. Pumpkin Risotto special was not so good - no creamy enough and way too sweet! Our server Jamie... Full menu, wine list;Wonderful ambiance. Menu consists of palate pleasing culinary delights and great desserts as well. Very 'homey', warm surroundings. An 'eating place' not to be missed in central New Hampshire close to Newfound Lake.

My husband and I have been spending time in Bristol every summer for 15 years. Once each year we go to the Homestead, and it never disappoints. The flavored martinis are great, the homey, New England food is consistently good and the prices are reasonable. They serve a cottage cheese spread with crackers before the meal, and offer a sweet... We love this place. Every time we come here we're welcomed like old friends. The food is fantastic and they'll change a meal to suit your request. The menu is tavern type to high-end.

We took a small Family Group, including (2) young, well behaved Grandchildren... to "The Homestead" in Bristol, NH, this (2016) Labor Day weekend. I made a phone reservation for eight... requested a private setting... and was treated as an old friend, on the phone. We had a wonderful quiet area... with only a few tables... and every meal drew great... More

The staff was lovely and my party of 6 all received good service and the food was tasty. However, I suspect that they are not especially careful in preparing their gluten free choices. I can't be sure of this but it is my suspicion since I was sick all of the next two days. The place needs a decorating make... More

We joined a local from the lake regions for dinner at the Homestead.recently. It was lovely and comfortable. The service was friendly and good, The food was extremely good and the prices were more than fair. We all chose different seafood entree's and they were all fresh and prepares to perfection. Portions were large. The soups were flavorful. The establishment... More

we haven't been to the white mountains in NH in awhile and decided to visit a camp site (see camp site review). We stopped at the homestead and found it just as good as when we last visited. While the food was good it also struck home that the prices seem steep for the portions provided. A sign of the... More
