Had lunch with 3 adults, 1 senior, and 1 child. The child was entertained by the stone and glass chess set in the foyer while we waited for our table. The wait was 5 minutes or so. The old architecture was really a cool factor to me. There were stone walls, and the front windows that opened to the outdoors.... More

Very nice meal and nice atmosphere. I ordered the vegetarian enchilada. The ingredients sound like they would not go together, but they do. The margaritas was good and plenty strong for me. The decorations were cheery and the restaurant was clean. Has a good selection of entries.

After a busy day, we had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Cafe Del Rio tonight. Tried the carnitas as well as the enchiladas. We enjoyed it so much, it is a pity you cannot lick a plate clean in public! Dinner check for 2 entrees and 2 ice teas totaled $30. Very good price for the quality of the food,... More

Artie and Bryan have done a fine menu, awesome staff and great atmosphere. Need to try the Vegetable Enchilada, the Chicken fried chicken and the Empanada's. Pure heaven. Must place to eat lunch or dinner on the Comstock. Plus the view is outstanding.

Not your average Mexican food. Good mix of traditional Mexican and healthy new twists. Non-Mexican alternatives too. We had 4 separate dishes and all were very delicious. The margaritas was tasty and refreshing but needed more tequila. Also a little removed from the crowds on end of town.

All the food you order here is awesome. We had delicious house salads, chips and salsa and avocado salsa. We also had a tamale and chilling rellenos. The dessert of cinnamon ice cream with nuts and Carmel sauce was fabulous too. Service was good too. The cafe is located in the south part of town in the historic Werrin building---formerly... More

You can never order anything at the del rio that isn't awesome . The Texas steak tacos are my favorite! And they have an amazing chocolate creme Brulee.

Located on the very south part of Virginia City, Cafe del Rio is located in the historic Werrin Building, formerly a grocery store and room house, and the main dining room features rock walls Their brunch menu, starting on Sunday's at 10 am, offers a dozen interesting dishes. Their enchiladas are excellent, and you can mix and match beef, chicken... More
