Hubby and I stopped in for lunch since it was in the hotel (see review regarding hotel) and ordered some appetizers and one of their signature drinks. After 45 min of waiting for the drink, we cancelled and told them not to worry about it. The waitress got snippy with us, saying, "well. I told you someone was on their... More

We had such a great experience the first time we went, we went back the next night. The first night we both had a stew, that was made fresh at the open kitchen bar. The next night I had the Bouillabaisse that was excellent! I do recommend. Also the poor mans Coucilla was very good too! ( not sure on... More

Crab Louie was flavorful and just the right amount. Prices higher this year but worth it anyway. I will go to the Oyster Bar again on my next trip to Reno/Sparks.

Ordered the lobster bisque which was over cooked and flavorless including the extra bay shrimp topping. There was one piece of langastino found in the bottom of the bowl. Would not order again. Husband ordered caesar salad with jerk shrimp. The salad greens had been washed but not dried which made the whole salad soggy. The jerk shrimp were nice... More

It was convenient to try this restaurant while staying at the Nugget. Service was good and prices were reasonable. The Manhattan clam chowder was a disappointment though, although the fried shrimp were good and the portion large. Ambiance was very pleasant.

Pan roast is the best thing here. Other than that, it is hit or miss like the rest of the nugget. Service average as well

We decided to try the oyster bar. It's quite camp with a 1970's dining in a ship cabin feel. Felt like I was on the set of love boat. The staff were fun and friendly and loved to have a chat. Servings are large. The place was packed on the Thursday we were there- I'd book as many couples had... More

Great atmosphere and reasonable pricing. Food was only OK....but I tend to be really critical when it comes to sea food.

The food here is excellent! This is a family favorite. They have the best pan roast, clam chowder, fresh king crab, oysters and anything else you might be looking for hands down ! If in Sparks you must stop in!

We have been enjoying John Asquaga's Oyster Bar decades and their pan roasts cannot be beat! You can add on a fresh crab topper to any item and it takes it over the top! If you are a seafood lover you must give them a try. I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE their fried oysters! If you are a fan of... More
