Delicious. Dim sum shrimp is good. Potstickers. White wine. A little bit of an English problem but nice atmosphere with lots of room and quick take out

We walked in about 5pm on a Monday and it was empty. We are immediately greeted and asked how many. We reply, two. They respond with, "for Chinese?" I gave my wife a look and thought to myself, no, we wanted BBQ, that is why we came to a Chinese restaurant. My wife saw my look and said to me after we sat down that they have sushi at the counter as well. Regardless, I think it was an interesting way to ask the question. There are three TV's in the restaurant, two were turned on and playing American Pickers which I also thought was interesting. The rest of the place is decorated as what you might expect at a Chinese restaurant. We were seated right away in a booth and offered drinks while we perused the menu. When the drinks arrived, we placed an order for the pot-stickers appetizer and chose our entrees. My wife chose the sweet and sour triple dish with shrimp, chicken, pork and veggies along with fried rice and I decided on the chicken chow mein. The appetizer came out first, looked really good and tasted really good as well. The pot-stickers come with a sauce that tasted primarily like soy sauce but was spicy. Our entrees came out a short time later and looked really good as well. While we were there a few other people came for pick up orders and two other couples were seated, but no one else. My wife really enjoyed the sweet and sour and said she would definitely recommend. She even enjoyed it heated up later which is very unusual for sweet and sour.

Nice selection of entrees. Love the on line ordering. Very easy and convenient. The chicken with snow peas was great!

You can have Chinese or Sushi here at Fortune Star, located in a little used strip mall. The place is actually very good as far as AYCE places go for sushi. The Chinese food is normal ala carte ordering. Sit at the sushi bar for the best service. No, there won't be some Japanese master with 50 years sushi experience serving you here any exotic fish flown in direct form Japan, but you will get a standard variety of fish we all know on the west coast and Reno, all fresh and cut decent. Just sit there and order till your tummy says stop. I'd come back here again when Passing thru.

Food sucks! Service sucks! Sucky people! One time, I called them, and they did not listen to what I wanted to order, just saying "no available table" and then hang up. What kind of waiter would do that!

Fortune Star has really gone down hill. I am changing my review to reflect what we recently experienced. We were very upset about the hygiene habits of our waitress during our last visit. She was dabbing a wound on her face with a tissue and then serving us without washing her hands or removing the tissue from her hand! It was NASTY. We will not be returning to Fortune Star. The manager was observing what the waitress was doing and did nothing to change her behavior! Sanitary business practices are NECESSARY!!!!!

Three for lunch at 12:35. Lotsa parking right in front, in an empty shopping center diagonally across from the popular Peg's Glorified Ham 'n' Eggs. Easy access off Mae Anne. Pleasant looking dining area with booths and a sushi bar, couple TVs over the bar, CNN & ESPN on and muted. Restrained but attractive lighting and decorations. Booths have a small table, but seating is very close to the table. Country music playing on the sound system. Orders taken quickly, the wait person was pushing the dirty dishes cart when she stopped to take our orders. Not appetizing. Orders came in decent time. Hot/sour soup was fine. Egg drop soup was fine. Crab rangoon was mostly cream cheese, little crab. Egg roll was dense, good plum dipping sauce, didn't try the Chinese mustard. Main dishes: cashew chicken had odd little pieces of chicken, few cashews. Brown rice was not very good. Pork chow mein was all right, steamed rice with it good. General's chicken was not overly spiced, had some crunch and the BBQ pork fried rice was excellent. Chopsticks on demand. Lunch menu specials were all $6.95, and lots of choices. Pepsi products only.

The food was tasteless......I had heard that they were fairly new in the area and so we decided to order $50 worth of food......all I can say is that I hope the reason my stomach was sick last night was not because of the food but because it was expensive for the terrible food we ate. Never going back

Their sushi chefs are very good and they have sake drinks that are very tasty. Usually it is difficult to get quick sushi service when you sit at a table, but the Fortune Star crew does a great job of making it happen quickly and correctly. The staff remembers you when you arrive and the food is great again. Great to have our local sushi restaurant back at top form!

Located in a strip mall but has really nice decor. Food is very fresh and plentiful. I had chicken with snow peas, friends had schechwan shrimp and mongolian beef. We were all very happy with our meals. I iked the big chunks of vegetables instead of tiny, minced pieces Their strange choice of techno music did not go with the decor or oriental them.

The sushi is of good quality. Bite-sized, not a jumbo mouthful of rice, with nice fresh sashimi. All the Americanized rolls are available, some with traditional flavoring, others a bit wild but good. The Chinese dishes are both the typical Americanized versions, eg., sweet and sour pork, but also some wonderful Chinese style dishes. Our family loves the remodeling to circle tables and the classic Chinese decor and atmosphere.... Always a bit entertaining!

Seriously, what we believe must be the female owner was yelling at everyone working there & extremely rude to us. One of our group ordered sushi & thought it was very good. The rest of us ordered General Tso's Chicken, Cashew Chicken & Mongolian Beef and we all agreed it was subpar. Just the atmosphere is disturbing. Would never recommend this place

This place was formerly called Peony. For take out, I've had twice a problem with the freshness but for eating in, food has been good. The sushi is very fabulous. It's a pleasant decor, nice atmosphere and it needs more business. It would be a shame for this place not to survive. Yes, you could go on a date there.
