Several years later, another visit to the Stone House Cafe. My daughter and I enjoyed brunch on a beautiful July morning. We arrived around 10 AM and it was 1/4 full. We were seated right away outside, which had big umbrellas for each table. I got Crepes and a side of bacon with Chai Tea and my daughter got the fruit plate with cottage cheese and a side of bacon. The meals were outstanding as always. For her plate, there was plenty of fresh, sliced apples, pears, tangerines, grapes, watermelon, strawberries blackberries and blueberries, accompanied by a large scoop of cool cottage cheese. My crepes had fruit compote filling and fresh blueberries and strawberries with whipped cream on top. They were light but filling. The bacon was also thick cut with just enough smoke.

This was the first stop on a cross-country road trip for my spouse and me. We chose to brunch indoors, which was pleasant enough. It was clear that the outdoor garden area was the more desirable area. The ambience there was almost idyllic. The food was good overall. We had a croque madame and eggs with a chile relleno. The hash browns that came with the egg/chile plate were crisp and tasty. They were a highlight. The croque was enormous. The bread was really sweet, so it seemed more like a breakfast pastry than a typical croque. It was topped by a fried egg, which was underdone despite my asking for it to be over medium. These are but minor points, however. I felt lucky to have avoided the dreaded "rude hostess" mentioned in other reviews. Instead there was a friendly gentleman at the podium. Our server seemed to be harried and thus was a bit brusque. He wasn't rude or impolite, however. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this very popular Reno dining spot.

Visited Reno for a few days and had dinner at the Stone House Cafe. We were a bit skeptical when we saw how long and broad the menu was. The dinner St. Germaine for me and Halibut for a friend was the best dinner either of us had in years. Their Sauce chef is brilliant. The dinner was so good we went back for lunch the next day for a Crab Louie salad and Coconut Salmon again 2 fabulous meals would recommend hands down to anyone.

We had an incredibly unpleasant experience at the restaurant. The staff's attitude was extremely impolite and unwelcoming. To begin, they brought us the dinner menu when we had requested the coffee and dessert menu. A lady was quite discourteous and insisted it was dinner time, despite it only being 6 pm (even though we prefer to dine at our own pace). What made matters worse was that, after just 15 minutes into our meal, they brought the bill without us requesting it, and even removed it from our table while we were still seated. This behavior was completely unprecedented and exceptionally impolite.

Unfortunately this place doesn’t know what customer service is, reserved a table for two in advanced since it was recommended to ensure of getting a table. After booking a table outside, i make sure to ask if we can change our mind and sit inside because of the air quality in the area. The receptionist Pat( or sound like Pat) told me that he can change it. On the day of my reservation, I call 1 and half hour a head to check about my reservation, the same guy answer my call and now he is telling me that he cannot honor my reservation because they are closing outside seating and all he can do is put me on the waitlist, so why bother making a reservation? and why tell me before that I can get a table inside? He even tell me that people cancel instead of keeping their reservation. Well good customer service don’t suggest on canceling reservation because the restaurant can’t do anything about their seating.

I dined at Stone House Cafe with a friend last week and our experience was outstanding. A long workday ended very pleasantly here. Cocktails were great, crab cakes were a perfect appetizer, entrees were delicious (I had paella), and dessert was equally impressive (split the bananas foster bread pudding). The portions were generous and I took home half of the paella. Our server, Noonan, knew everything about the menu and made good recommendations. He was friendly and attentive. I could not have asked for a better dining experience.

My business colleague recommended we dine here for lunch. Right now restaurants are taking reservations so I strongly recommend. We split the fabulous sweet potato fries and then I had the Italian Chicken Salad, very generous serving and my friend had the chicken and quinoa salad. We left happy and sated.

We are always looking for a new place for lunch and this was recommended by friends, now it's one of our favorite places to go. We've only eaten lunch here and you need to go early as it is always super busy. During the summer months the patio is a great place, spacious and your dog is welcomed with their own bowl of water. During the winter months inside is cozy and you may eat at the bar as well. Food is always yummy, vegetarian friendly, great service and always busy.

This resturant is great but I cringe everytime we go becuase I know we have to interact with the rude owner/hostess. She is so unpleasent from start to finish that you feel unwelcome and disreguarded. If you try to call ahead to make reservations she will pick up the phone, mumble something, put you on hold and never pick back up. When trying to put your name in for a table, or get seated she will walk right by you without saying anything, and when she does cme to help you the service is always terible and extremely rude. Everyone else at this resturant is lovely, but the owner/hostess needs to pay attention to all of these bad reviews and remove herself from customer service.

I made a reservation for my girlfriend birthday. Our server was Noonan and very pretentious. He took our drink and appetizer order and went to cater to the other guest. He returned with our drinks and someone else brought us the appetizer. When we finished our appetizer Noonan returned to take our dinner order. Someone else brought us our dinner. When Noonan saw my drink was empty, he asked if I wanted another. I told him a cup of coffee would be great. He looked so disappointed. After he brought me my coffee, he completely ignored us. Three separate times he came over to cater to the three other tables while keeping his back to us and preventing us from getting his attention. My girlfriend wanted desert and I was hoping to get another drink. Finally I went to the hostess and said "I guess we're not spending enough money because our waiter is completely ignoring us. Can we get our bill so we can go somewhere else to complete our birthday celebration?" As an Uber driver with over 12,000 rides behind me, people are always asking for recommendations. I will never recommend this place to anyone!

Great service, huge menu and very tasty food. We had the Coconut Prawn Tacos, Reuben sandwich, Ahi salad, Blackened Salmon and Cheesesteak Sandwich … all looked good and tasted great! Highly recommend and would definitely go back next time in Reno. Cute historic house, nice setting and kind people.

I've tried Stone House a handful of times. I really want to like it but they apparently have a lot of 'off' days. My husband and I did a breakfast take out (due to covid we had to order ahead and eat outside) and I was again disappointed. I had the French toast with bananas and a rum sauce. It was all one note and that was sweet. Overly sweet. I realize french toast is sweet, I prefer sweet breakfasts, but this was on another level of it that was way too much. The toast itself was also a little hard and chewy. My husband had the eggs Benedict and he enjoyed them but honestly he has never had a meal he didn't like. I will say that for being take out, the eggs looked to be cooked perfectly.

They have a very nice broad menu or traditional favorites and unique dishes. The service was good and the food was delicious. Full bar and some unique cocktails. The restaurant itself is in a restored house and they have indoor, outdoor and patio seating. They clearly use quality ingredients. Highly recommend.

We were interested in a non-casino restaurant; something stand alone and unique. The Stone House fit the bill in every way. We sat on the porch area but also thought that the outside patio and the inside were both lovely. I had the sautéed chicken with artichokes and my husband had the lamp chops. Both were well presented and SO good. Also we had the Cesar salad before and it was the very best Cesar salad we have ever had - the dressing was amazing. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable and very friendly. We loved this place and if we find ourselves in Reno again this is a must to return to. Don't waste your time in the casino restaurants - visit The Stone House.
