We always enjoy eating breakfast at this restaurant, the people working there are very sociable and friendly. The menu has a good selection. I believe a lot of locals come there for breakfast as well.

A dear sister in Christ brought us here in Mid May 2022. As retirees we love the fact that they are open 24 hours a day. We can come any time and void all the business folks with their ‘Power Meals’ and families with crying,...unruly, messy children... as we sometimes have trouble negotiating around crowds with our canes and wheelchairs. We instantly fell in love with the elegant atmosphere, the wonderful service we have received from our petite waitress Chadra, but mostly it was a total sell out of our taste buds the instant we recovered from the very first bite enough to say: We'll Be Back! We will come back every month... rain, snow or shine. As we mentioned we are a disabled senior couple on a fixed social 'insecurity' income. We can only afford to go out to dinner once a month. Of all the places within a 100-mile radius, we pick The Purple Parrot in The Atlantis Casino in central Reno. Now about that Quesadilla... while other items on the menu have gone up in price this one is holding tight to a mere $12.00, but if you want to include some tender, savory, grilled chicken the price only goes up to $15.00. Before your food ever arrives, you are presented with your beverages of choice. We have opted out of any appetizers to make room for our heart's desire. We love the flavor of the grilled chicken! They mix in just the perfect amount of spices and Jack cheese, (and will eliminate the cheddar on request). Then alongside your dish arrives four cute 2 ounce white parfait cups filled with Pico de Gallo, guacamole, sliced Jalapenos, and sour cream. Do not wait a second to open the tortilla and fill it with those yummy filled cups, making your quesadilla over one inch high. That is right; this is all inside a lightly grilled flour tortilla, filled right up to the very edge, cheese still hot and oozing out, as well as your additions. We both have healthy appetites but we are filled fast because it is so scrumptious and need a to-go box! Even hours later (or the next day if our taste buds can wait that long), micro waved or cold... they are delicious! Do not just take our word... Go! Venture into the Purple Parrot in the Atlantic Casino... at the corner of Peckham and Virginia... and for a while at least, you just may forget that the rest of the world exists! And NO... we are not related to, paid by, or bribed by anyone at this establishment. This review was totally on our own! If we can bear it, we may experiment on our next trip and try something new from the menu. That sizzling platter of beef smelled wonderful...and as we looked on to other tables as they were served... we said in unison: "Next time.... and still order the quesadilla, and anther one to-go." This place has every good thing... James 1:17!More
The server was very friendly and fast, my omelet was huge and good. Prices for a coffee is crazy $4.00 for a cup of coffee, no thanks. But this was the same in every restaurant in Reno.
The pancakes seemed cooked hours earlier, were almost too tough to cut through (never imagined previously that a pancake could be tough). The syrup was so congealed that you could turn the pitcher upside down and nothing dropped out, defying the laws of gravity. How...many hours in advance were those little pitchers prepared? The eggs were right, the hash browns were of somewhat recent vintage, the steak was OK. I was never offered a coffee refill. Our own mistake: Allowing ourselves to be seated right at the entrance, so we had to suffer the tobacco smoke from the casino.More
Open 24/7 you can't beat this place. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or appetizers there is nothing that can't be so GOOD
Went here for a large breakfast. There always seems to be a wait, but that seems to indicate it is busy and with lots of locals- a good sign to me. The menu has all the basics and portions are generous. The service was good...despite seeming a little thin on the help....these people were working their butts off! We were pleased and will go again if in town.More
We ate 3 breakfasts and 2 dinner here and each time the food was good fresh and delivered with an eye to our needs - the gluten free kenowa pancakes were excellent and the over all quality was great - never had to wait for...a table and the wait staff was attentive - reminded me the old era DuparsMore
Return visit a couple of years later, by myself this time. I arrived at 9:30 on Labor Day. It appeared 1/2 full but I had to wait 12 mins. I was greeted for drinks after 4 mins and breakfast a couple of mins later. I...ordered a large grapefruit juice, which was advertised as ‘freshly squeezed’ but I had doubts about that part. It tasted canned to me. For breakfast I ordered the Corned beef hash, which came with eggs (I got poached), hash browns and toast. My juice arrived in 5 mins, after the ‘drink girl’ brought me orange juice and had to be swapped out. My meal arrived 7 mins later. The hash was plentiful and seared just right. The eggs were cooked perfectly but were served in a very small ramekin, making them difficult to eat. The hash browns were cooked dark, just as I requested. The muffin was, a muffin. Hard to improve/fail on that one. Side note: the salt and pepper grinders were mostly non-functional. I barely got any out of either. Overall, the Purple Parrot restaurant served decent food, but opportunities to improve were there. As I finished, it was still 1/2 full.More
We just got food to go and it was great. My girlfriend got the French dip on gluten free bread and I just got the chicken tenders. It came quick and everything was tasty.
I love going out for breakfast, but so often I am disappointed in one part or the other. Many places cannot provide quality consistently across the plate. My breakfast at the Purple Parrot knocked it out of the park. Everything was as good as it...could be. On top of the good food prep the service was quick and efficient. I couldn’t of been happier. I’m staying in the hotel a few more days and plan to go back, for sure.More
Consistently quality food We just love the Asian lettuce cups fresh zesty. Portions are larger no one leaves hungry. The bacon jam burger is exceptional
Great food and marvelous service. Fanny and Erika provided fabulous service. It was a delightful dining experience. Highly recommended
We went on a Saturday morning, so it was busy. We waited for a table for about 20 minutes. I ordered the only gluten free breakfast item, pancakes. I had high hopes based on reviews. The portions were large, but my pancakes were undercooked with...raw batter in the center. I could only eat the edges. The syrup amount provided was also very meager. Our waitress checked on us once and asked if we needed anything, but didn’t really give me a chance to answer and clearly didn’t look at my plate of raw pancake batter. As we paid up front, I let the worker who appeared to be a manager know. My husband enjoyed his breakfast burrito and potatoes, but he had to request ketchup. Oh, and the environment is smoky since it’s on the casino floor. Once was enough. There are other good places a walkable distance from the casino.More
Very friendly staff and good standard food. Plenty of room and open 24 hours a day. We had breakfast here and it was good.
Quinoa Blue Berry pancakes are the Best. My ham and cheddar cheese omelet is always good. We always eat breakfast at the Parrot and it has never disappointed us. Great service too.
