This is my favorite place for Mexican food in Reno. I especially like the combination plates. When you arrive you are given salsa, beans and chips as a appetizer and the salsa is fantastic. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. They often have a daily special.

Traveling through Reno on Virginia street, we noticed a shopping center with several restaurants located on the grounds. We were hungry and selected So Amigos Mexican restaurant. Our first impression of the restaurant was how clean and well decorated the business, and busy for a weekday. The restaurant reminded me of some of the bars and restaurants on the yucutan peninsula. The menu was extensive. We selected the flautas appetizers made of flour, and the camarones Cabo Blanco. The flautas were cooked well, without being burnt from frying. The interior filling of chicken was tender, moist and well seasoned. The camarones Cabo Blanco though was a little bland for me. I asked for a couple of jalapeno peppers to help me spice up my dish. My preference though. The chips and salsa included bean dip that was a nice extra. Raspberry ice tea for drinks. The service was outstanding, as she doubled in our area as bartender and server. Another good restaurant in Reno. Prices were a fair price for the food.

We were taking guests out and thought we were going to Bertha Miranda's but turns out it was closed on Monday night, so we scrambled to find somewhere else to go. I'm glad they were closed. It was great! My new go-to Mexican place whilst in Reno! The camarones cabo blanco! Yummm.... They have a great bean dip they bring with the chips. I'm just sad now because they are not in Salt Lake. Maybe it's for the best...

We decided to go out earlier in the evening, and glad we did. I had a burrito and my wife had two enchiladas. Great service! We have been here twice before and still meets our expectations! Yummy food!

I had some visiting friends who wanted Mexican food, So Amigos filled the bill, all enjoyed the very caring service and food was consistently good. Those who had a margarita complimented the bartender and owner on the generous quantity and excellent quality of their drinks. We have eaten in many Mexican restaurants in Reno and have found So Amigos to be the best!

Service was excellent as well as the food. Could use some updating, but not a bad place to dine at a reasonable price

The food was good but, I didn't like the tip being added in. Make sure you're aware of this before you leave more money..

We had a great dinner here. Loved my carnitas, slow roasted perfectly. My friends enjoyed their dinners as well. Margos were good and everything was priced well. Service was attentive without being obtrusive and friendly. Definitely would recommend.

If you want very good Mexican, and do not want to deal with Smoky casinos, try Si Amigos. You will find it midway between downtown and Plumb Lane, on Virginia. Great tequila selection, large portions, very good prices, tasty food, all in a fun atmosphere. You will enjoy it.

I was looking for a non-chain Mexican food eatery and chose Si Amigos. I'm very happy I did. I had a wonderful combination lunch that was very tasty and quite filling. Service was friendly and prompt. I will return here for another meal on my next visit to Reno.

All eight of us had a great dinner. The Margaritas, the chips with two types of dips (bean dip and a fierce red dip), the ceviche and the guacamole were delicious. We each ordered various dinners. I ordered crisp beef tacos with a salad and black beans. For the dessert I had flan. The food is homemade and the hosts Omar and Arturo are welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed ourself.

We were looking to watch a Mexican Soccer game while in Reno. Upon calling to see if they would broadcast it, we were met with a very warm reply and upon arrival we were even assigned a private room to dine and watch the game. Being a Mexican who loves to eat, I must say that the food was absolutely outstanding and the Original Margarita unbeatable. Must visit while in town!

What great service, food is excellent hot and delicious , the Margaritas on Tuesdays and Thursdays is not only the best tasting and large but it's 2 for 1. Can't beat that ....now if you like spicy hot sauce ask the waiter or waitress for the hot special sauce and pour a bit on the bean dip...yummmm. Overall the family owned restaurant has one the best customer service ......always coming back for more. Kudos to you

Have been three times now but only for lunch. Each time the food was very good...fresh,etc. personally I think they are a bit overpriced tho. The last time they did get my order wrong and I u derstand that happens sometimes, but I didn't enjoy the length of time I had to wait before they brought correct order
