Ernie has been running his little pastry shop for decades. He's wonderful to chat with, while tasting a slice of apple strudel. Give Ernie's a try!

Ernie's has been a stop for us for the past 10 years when we stay at the nearby Hyatt. His little bakery turns out classic European pastries that are decadently delicious.

I discovered Ernie's in 2012 when I first began as Artistic Director of Classical Tahoe. It is my first stop when I return to Incline each summer. The apple and cherry strudel is simply the finest I have ever tasted.

Hidden gem. Find it and be happy! Ernie is a treasure. Local kids head here after school to get cookies. Google him. Be prepared to learn a lot.

Go for the pastries, stay for the conversation. Ernie is a great old man willing to chat with anyone. It's worth the trip just to hear his amazing story. Have a pastrami sandwich, but try not to look around too much. This place is like a combination history professor office/grandmas kitchen/autoshop.

A friend read about this place in the newspaper in Las Vegas. Ernie is an amazing man and he can really bake. His specialty is the poppie strudle. The eclair was out of this world. Make sure you try this place when in the area.

So to avoid a long story, I won't tell you what I learned about Ernie, but I will tell you that the bakery items, the lace cookies, the Apple Strudel, and everything else they bake, is certainly the finest European bakery. We stopped numerous times while on Vacation in Lake Tahoe, and it's well hidden, and certainly worth the stop.... More

Saw an article about him in the Chicago Tribune before we left for our trip, so sought out his bakery. It happened to be almost right across from the Hyatt in Incline City. Check out the direction signs in the parking lot as it is back around the group of buildings. Wonderful pastires, although the strudel is more like pie... More

Wonderful selection - the sour cherry strudel was so good. Ernie is a charmer with interesting story and old photos. We drove to Incline Village from Zephyr Cove to check out bakery and we were not disappointed!!
