Welcome comfort food on a rainy evening

Passed through Ely recently on a road trip, saw good overall reviews for this place. Tasty renditions of egg flower soup, crab wonton and cashew chicken that seemed prepped in a well-seasoned wok with nice 'taste history.' Happy Garden isn't fancy nor are they trying to be -- and/but if you're in... read more

There aren't too many places to eat in Ely. We decided to try their Chinese restaurant. First, it took 30 minutes to get some hot tea because they didn't have any water boiling. Second, our food came at different times. There isn't much atmosphere and the food was just OK.

It was good to have a selection, not a fancy restaurant by any means, clean happy helpful staff and a delicious Chinese meal with fresh ingredients in the middle of such baron countryside was really appreciated

We stopped here because we were in the mood for some oriental food. It was a good choice. The service was a bit slow but the meal was freshly prepared using fresh ingredients. I was surprised at the quality of the meal. Excellent dinner.

What a great place to dine! Whether you want privacy or enough room to seat a large group, they have it here. The food is fresh and very good. If you are a vegetarian there are several selections available.

Ate here the evening we were in Ely. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food was very good. Some of the better chinese we have had. The egg drop soup was very good.

For a small town, Happy Garden is a fine Chinese restaurant. We were staying at the Hotel Nevada, and this place is right across the street. It doesn't look like much from the outside. The interior isn't fancy either, but it's cozy and comfortable. We thought the food was excellent and the prices reasonable. We wouldn't hesitate going back here... More

I thought my dish was pretty good, and considering the distance to the real world fresh vegetables and virtually everything else I am not sure how they do it, but was busy Sat night with locals. My take out was good, special pan fried noodles for $9.95, about the same I pay in Las Vegas where I live.
