Celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, Great steak sandwiches love the fries. The history of this building is what makes it fun.

The BEST steaks you can get anywhere! Seafood is also excellent! Don't miss out on the Star. Always busy, especially on Fridays.

We brought out-of-town company for lunch. The food was good, and the service was also good. Pros: Crab sandwiches, steak sandwiches, and ham sandwiches were all good. Con: It wasn't busy when we went in, yet we were put by the service doors. I prefer going there for lunch over dinner, but can take it or leave it either way.

I love the star! Sometimes it can be a little overcrowded, but that just goes to show how much everyone around the area also loves it. The staff are always very friendly and the food is really good. It can get a bit pricey but when they bring out 5 or so dishes of food before you actually get your... More

Four of us were headed into the Ruby Mountains for a 3 day backpacking trip and stopped in to the Star Hotel for lunch. It was crowded but the waitress was friendly and service was prompt. The food was really good and there was lots of it which was great to fortify us for three days of dehydrated food. It... More

We tried The Star for lunch. Nice small place, great, friendly service! I had the chicken strips and fries and Hubby had the steak sandwich with peppers, onions, and a jus. The sandwich was also served with salad. The house dressing was very tasty, similar to a creamy ceasar. Small menu and casual atmosphere.

If you eat here you will love. Staff are excellent and the food is more than enough. I have eaten here several times and have never had an meal I could not recommend. They take pride in everything they do and it shows!

The Baked Lamb is delicious and a unique treat! Each meal starts with a delicious soup followed by salad. Then each Entre comes a healthy serving of green beans, garbanzo beans, pinto beans, pasta, bread, and great thin French fries. The house wines are very good and reasonably priced too! I'd come back here anytime I'm in the area. BTW... More

I have a reputation for eating "like a horse." I tried but I could eat all the food. I ordered New York steak which came with: a large bowl of soup, salad, green beans, bread, regular beans, French fries, spaghetti, and chick peas. Two people can eat this dish for one person. Any advice? do not eat up all the... More
