A lovely pub full to the brim on a Saturday night. We had booked but there was no note if it in the diary. However it was quickly rectified and a table was found. The food was good. I had the burger. It was good and juicy but I'm not convinced it was home made. Good quality but I suspect... More

Thursday evening is normally a quiet night in most pubs and restaurants. The five bells was packed. This alone says much about a restaurant. The staff were very nice, lovely setting with plenty of character, and the food was very enjoyable. The food was not expensive and the choices were very good. Great place to visit, pity I live a... 3 of us, all old school friends visited last night for a catch up, a birthday celebration and a meal- what a stunning place, a quintessential English country pub with low ceilings and plenty to look at on the walls and shelves. We had booked a table and good job as got quite busy. The menu was plentiful with a... More

By chance stopped here for a midweek lunch. There is a car park at the back. The pub is wonderful inside, very cosy with a real fire and tables under the beams and in little corners. All sorts of ornaments, knick, knacks and trivia. The menu was traditional pub fayre. Nicely served and a few special lunch items. The food... More

Good atmosphere. Good service. Good food. Good wine. Well worth a visit. Will go again certainly. One note of caution though - the car park is very small.

Superb traditional pub cluttered with a myriad of objects, your eyes can wander with pleasure and will not be bored and this, wherever you look. You can look for dust but won’t find any, despite the difficulties to clean the place. The pub is spotless. Fabulous service, competent personnel, smiling and professional. We came for a special occasion on a... More

The Five Bells at Bassingham has a deserved reputation. Well worth a visit. The menu is varied and will appeal to most. Can highly recommend the 'Steak' night on Wednesdays, which is also quiz night. A really good night to visit! Choice of seating in the restaurant area or lounge to eat. Comfort, on whichever you choose. The staff are... More

A wonderful English pub hidden away in the beautiful village of Bassingham between Lincoln and Newark. Decorated in the traditional hops and with collections of farming items and the odd stuffed animal the pub offers one of the most extensive menus I have ever seen in an inn. We selected two courses for today's lunch and we were a given... More

Lunch with the wife and parents a couple of weeks ago. I can't even remember what the folks had (!) but the wife and I went for the steak ciabatta and chips.......Decent service and everyone enjoyed their meals - they also have a decent range of beers. The interior design/decor is as eccentric as I remember it (we're irregular visitors)... More
