we arrived around 5:20pm. It took about 5 minutes for someone to seat us, but after that all was great. We ordered their prime rib. It was great. It came extremely quickly. My husband ordered a huge 24oz beer that was only $3.50. We were...More

Rocky mountain oysters were fabulous! Very tender and flavorful. My husband had chicken fried steak. Very generous with their portions. Fun place to eat with all the big game taxidermy and history of the original owner.

We stopped here on a whim while traveling back to Colorado and it was well worth it. Menu is reasonably priced and the food selection immense. If you can't find something, you're not that hungry. The kids LOVED walking around exploring all the mounted animals...More

The grands loved the atmosphere and the bison burgers, however the chicken fried steak was mediocre as was the hamburger steak. We have been there before and the food has been much better in the past. All in all mediocre food and expensive.

I appreciate you stopping and will discuss with my staff the mediocre impression of the food. We certainly strive to be much better than that, as you have experienced on previous visits. Thanks again for your business. Tim H. owner

Description
Prohibition ended in Nebraska on August 9th, 1933, and Ole's opened at 12:01 the next day. Since then, we’ve been known as the bar in Paxton with great food and unusual decor. Over the years, our founder, the great outdoorsman Ole Herstedt, embarked on adventures in big game hunting that took him to every continent. For 35 years, he brought his trophy mounts home and hung them above the bar tables and booths: a moose from Canada, a python from Honduras, and even an iconic polar bear! Along with our hearty steaks and burgers made with local Nebraska beef, these trophies are why we’re known as Nebraska’s most famous roadside pit stop. Hop in the car, hit the road, and experience true Americana with us.
