Building is very nice inside. Food was good. But server did not serve entire order or discount what was not served. Had to wait a long time to get our check.

We were told this was the best place in town. Keep in mind its a SMALL town. Wait staff was very young, maybe first day, but she did just fine. Food was pretty good other than cold fries and some less than hot mac n...cheese. Drinks were decent. By the time we left at 7pm on Friday it was packed with locals.More

Wanted a place where we could sit down and eat after traveling for 4-5 hours. What a pleasant surprise, this place had great service and the food was delicious. My husband ordered the Brisket Sandwich and was so impressed by the size and amount of...brisket in his sandwich. He loved the homemade fries as well. I had the Chicken Fried Steak and was not disappointed either. We plan to stop on each opportunity we have. Nice little secret ... Jamie B our server was very friendly and went to ask questions when she didn't know the answer to our question. The atmosphere was great and the restroom was amazing, the shop class did an awesome job. You'll have to read about the history of the place.More

Went to the Driftwood for lunch. Family of five in Ogallala to enjoy the lake. Pleasant atmosphere and busy. From placing order - an hour until delivery. Of course, the staff was slammed but "busy" is an event for which management should have planned. Generous...portions - especially on the salads. I ordered the "Santa Fe Breakfast Skillet". Flavor wasn't bad actually but it would have been better if the food temperature had been warmer than the room when the dish arrived at the table. While the menu describes "breakfast potatoes" as one of the Skillet's ingredients, "tater tots" aren't what first come to mind. At best, the lunch could have been better with less build-up. Their ranking of "average" is when compared to other "upscale" restaurants seemingly catering to the tourist industry.More

We googled restaurants and found this gem. Food was great! Place is very neat and clean. Service was a little slow but it was very busy and I am sure like everywhere else they are understaffed.

This place is not only clean and new, it is the most delicious food! The ranch was superb and I am a ranch dressing snob! I need to learn to replicate it. The prices were reasonable (but we come from a Denver market so some...of you might think it's expensive). The Lake Mac Water drink is TO-DIE-FOR! They put swedish fish in it!! I wanted more than two!! Our waitress was super friendly and made up for the service being a bit slow. I thought everything in Ogallala was old and dumpy but this place redeemed my view of Ogallala! I would go back JUST for this restaurant. Thank you!!More

We were headed from Minneapolis Minnesota to Denver Colorado in a Cannonball Run we’ve done a thousand times before. Normally, Ogalalla Nebraska is a gas stop and run through a fast food joint. In our quest to make better food choices we decided to venture...in downtown Ogalalla. In the past 20 to 30 years, we have ventured along the old roads and towns of Nebraska; there was never much to do in this established farming community. Things are changing. When you come over the rail bridge there is a grand mural on the side of a building. They built a pavilion for a farmers market downtown and on this night the ice cream truck was there with a live band. When you arrive at the restaurant it has a beautiful marquee and outdoor seating with a big screen television. The interior of the restaurant has a sound stage for bands later in the evening. Attractive benches along several rows of tables allow for large groups for entertainment or family gatherings. We found the venue not to be dog friendly even on the outside patio. Our wait person was friendly and accommodating as we had been traveling all day and needed a few minutes to freshen up. The menu was normal bar food with old favorites such as cheeseburgers and fries, along with other sandwiches such as French Dips and Clubhouse Sandwiches. The food came out quick and the fries are recommended! The food is inexpensive here and they have a wide selection of draft beers. We loved this place, the improvements they’ve made to the downtown area and the welcoming atmosphere. The entire time we spent during the 5pm dinner hour was less than 45 minutes making it a great alternative to fast food off Interstate 80.More

We were camping near by and had been traveling for several weeks through out the summer and wanted a change of pace from RV cooking. The campground host recommended the Driftwood. We are glad they did. We had a great meal with friendly service. A...great selection of appetizers and we took advantage of several since we couldn't decide on one and could have fill up on them alone. Glad we didn't the reasonably priced entree's were well worth saving some room for. 3 meat BBQ platter was fantastic. Warning the Reaper Powder is really hot but fun to watch people try to eat without acting like it.More

We were walking pass and decided to try this place. I’m glad we did. The bartender was quite nice and entertaining. He was also fast and competent. I had a Reuben sandwich and my wife the Cesar salad with chicken on top. My Reuben was...the best one I’ve had in years! The Cesar was also excellent, with lots of chicken. You won’t go wrong stopping at this place.More

We arrived tonight to eat and stood with another couple for over 7 minutes at the entrance waiting on a hostess. I finally went and found a hostess she came and took the couples name that was in front of us and then walked away...not even capturing our name. We left at this point frustrated. We were fine to wait and have a beer at the bar but didnt even get the chance. We ended up going to Open Range and we had to wait here as well but they greeted us and we got a beer while the line went down and the burgers were great!More
