A former silent movie house, in a tiny town in Nebraska, that has been transformed by love, passion and artistry into something extraordinary. A roller-skating waitress, aromas from flawless gourmet fair, paintings on the wall from talented family members, and long tables set out for company greet you. We went for some paddle boarding and camping at nearby Lake McConaughy and stumbled onto this delight for breakfast. The eggs, french toast, zucchini fritters and lattes were absolutely delicious, but it was the aforementioned waitress (owner Cynthia) whose charm made this the highlight of our trip. We'll be back.

We stumbled upon this place while visiting the lake. We opened the door and there was an event going on with live music and dinner. We were about to walk out as we realized this needed reservations but Cynthia came to the door and welcomed us with the warmest smile and open heart. What an incredible experience! The place is full of gorgeous art, friendly people, and amazing music. As my 9 year old son stated: “ this should be named the best unlikely place”

We are spending a few days in western Nebraska. The guide at Ash Hollow strongly encouraged us to go to MUP for lunch. So very glad we did!
Charming, fun atmosphere. Incredibly delicious food, friendly and welcoming staff.
You won’t believe what a great experience awaits you here!

What a lovely gem. We were travelling from Gering NE, to Garden City, KS and hadnt eaten yet. So we just kept driving till we found somewhere that had a place or that looked like it was open, until we went through Lewellen. There were signs everywhere for The Most Unlikely Place. It is a cafe and gallery in one. It is a lovely place to stop. Cynthia served us (her and her husband own it), was so lovely. Service was amazing. She even showed us a photobook of the renovations years ago to make it what it is today. Food was great. We got talking about London (we are from the uk originally) and it was just an overall lovely experience. I wish we could have stayed longer but our trip was time sensitive. The Womens washroom was the cutest one I have ever been to. It is well worth a visit if you are passing through that way.

We pulled into Llewellen hoping to find a coffee place to stretch our legs. We came across The Most Unlikely Place and we were thrilled . The owners were lovely and the meal and coffee were great . Lovely artwork and we enjoyed the stories behind the art work. This is one place that we will not forget

I have wanted to come here for years but never took the time to drive the distance (about an hour). Now I’m sorry I waited so long.
Fun atmosphere, lots to look at and great food made the trip well worth my time. The coffee is excellent and owners and staff are fantastic
Don’t make the same mistake I did and think it may not be worth your time. It IS!

All I can say is WOW! Best food in Nebraska and we will be back. Worth the drive. The lady that owns this place is pure class. The building is awesome and this place is truly the most unlikely place.

A jazz duo was playing as I entered. The restaurant also sells art and other items. It is very nicely appointed. The tables are comfortable and the service was fantastic. All I originally wanted was a coffee, but I ordered a sandwich which came with a choice of sides. I chose Cole slaw. The beef barbecue sandwich was excellent. I cannot express the joy of finding this place. This is a country gem. The service was excellent and it does not break the bank.

While traveling to Colorado, there was no way I could resist visiting a town that shared my last name. Our course heading was another establishment that came up in a search for breakfast, but they were no longer open for breakfast, but there was this other place up the street—you can park your car and walk the entire downtown in a matter of minutes—that lived up to its name, The Most Unlikely Place.
It was not apparent to us at first that this was a restaurant. It appears more as a gallery or shop or both, and it is all those things, and they do serve food. We only saw and ordered from the breakfast menu. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, coffee and conversation with one of the proprietors, and learned quite a lot about the town’s history.
If you’re nearby, visiting the Ash Hallow State Historical Park, you should definitely stop and visit this most unlikely place.

I knew it was going to be a fun stop when the waitress came out of the kitchen wearing roller skates! They have a small menu with enough options to satisfy. I had the Fruity chicken salad and my traveling companion had the special of the day which was a pork ginger pineapple stir fry. Yummy! They were also serving freshly made mint tea made from mint they grow outside the back door of the restaurant and all the vegetables in the stir fry were home grown as well. It wasn't a five star dining experience but it was a solid meal served in pleasant surroundings. No complaints!!

A sweet little coffee house in small town Nebraska to take a break from the heat. They are open during the Spring/Summer season and lovely charming people. She made me an iced mint tea made from just the mint from her garden and was absolutely refreshing from 100 degree day...delicious. She also serves lunch and has a weekly special. There is local art and crafts spread throughout to purchase and the dining area is absolutely charming with an outdoor walk thru bistro that is even more charming. We plan to get over that way again for lunch and spend more time exploring the area. It is close to Ash Hollow and Lake Mcconaughy, if your there check it out, it's a lovely treat
