Unexpected little gem

First time there. Located in a typical undistinguished strip mall, but don't let outward appearances fool you. Small, intimate, quiet with one young couple, two dads with their little girls, and us. Loved my spring rolls & my spouse enjoyed her yakitori. I had tempura platter; she had chicken teriyaki. It all was quite good. The server was capable and friendly. There was a sign that mentioned their menus needed to be updated because their prices had increased. It wasn't by much, but the menus do need to be replaced. Nevertheless, we'll be back.

Great little lunch place. Had the two sushi rolls for $10. Came with a tasty salad and miso soup. Quick service.

Truly excellent. Great service, well prepared sushi and very tasty other dishes.....try the tangerine chicken!!!

The Japanese beers were good and enjoyed them, they are 'big' at 22+ fl oz. The Tangerine chicken was excellent. My wife had a beef dish and we both loved it. Generous portions, you'll probably have lunch for tomorrow as well. Daughter had sushi which she said was excellent. Nice family owned place, highly recommend.

Sushi is supposd to be good!

Food poisoning. The salmon was off. Both people who ate at this establishment were ill on a 4 hour drive back home. It lasted for several days. Fortunately, no hospital visits were required. Oh how miserable.

Good middle of the road Sushi

Not the best sushi if you are a total sushi nut, but for Nebraska it is pretty good. Restaurant is very nice and many of their rolls are very good.

We went here for my sisters birthday. Everything was really good. The staff was really friendly. They make the sushi rolls where you can see them which is pretty cool. They offer wine and beer as well. The entire establishment is clean and well kept.

2 sushi rolls, miso soup and ginger salad $10.00. Great deal for some really good food! Clean, quiet restaurant with a great variety of sushi. The staff is always friendly and efficient.

We stumbled upon this place by accident. We went during lunch time. We ordered 6 sushi rolls (8 pieces per roll) and it came with two salads and two soups. We also ordered two drinks. Our total was under $30. The service was great and the food was delicious. I HIGHLY recommend this place!!

We love Hutong!

Hutong is a hidden gem for sushi in La Vista, or even Omaha for that matter. The selection of rolls are fantastic, and prices are very cheap. And the quality and freshness of the rolls are great. I would say Hutong is as good as Blue or Kona, but for half the price. Plus, they have a great happy hour, from 2-5, 7 days a week. When my wife and I are craving sushi, Hutong is our place. Highly recommend trying it out!

Delicious basic sushi

Nothing crazy just delicious affordable sushi. The space is extremely clean and nice but not extremely private nor romantic. The waitstaff was pleasant and helpful. Good location for a family meal. Did I mention the sushi was delicious?

Hidden Gem

After eating sushi around the Omaha area the last few years and experiencing disappointment as some of my favorite places went downhill, it was wonderful to find this little spot off the beaten path in La Vista. My daughter, her husband and two young children (ages 3 and 5) went for a Saturday lunch. Everyday is happy hour between 1 and 4PM so appetizers are half price. It was very quiet and after we ordered were served promptly. There are several delicious appetizers to try, the crabcakes were especially tasty. There was a special roll for the day, the "Bliss roll" and indeed was bliss! Presentation of the food was great. We were in and out within an hour which was great as the kids didn't get fussy. Best of all the check didn't break the bank.

Overpriced for quality

First time I thought, well, maybe it was the lunch rush why I had to wait 45 minutes. The second time, we have permanently scratched this place off our list. It is overpriced less than mediocre food. You want better sushi and entrees? Go to Dragon Cafe 1 mile west on Giles!
