Lochmara Lodge is by far my most favourite place to visit in the Queen Charlotte Sound. A quick boat ride out there, always a delicious lunch, and a walk around their beautiful gardens and tracks. The artwork throughout the grounds is always a treat. Love taking new visitors out to Lochmara and hearing their wonderful comments. On our last visit... More

Whether you stay at Lochmara Lodge or other accommodation or you are just a day visitor, the Lochmara Café is great for Breakfast and Lunch. View is great and staff superb. The food is very good too. Generous portions. Nice beer and wine list. Special ice cream for children (and adults too!)

Great stop for lunch. Beautiful setting, arrival by boat only but fantastic staff who serve a great glass of Pinot! Stopped for picnic and cafe happy for us to eat our own food after buying drinks. The food they serve looked fantastic but clearly we didn't eat there so can't vouch for the taste. They do both hot and cold... More

Nice view on the water and passerby. Good food and aplenty on your plate. Good wine and beer list. Very casual. you could opt for the terrasse to hear better all the birds that are attracted and researched.

We had the eggs Benedict for breakfast served with hot smoked salmon. Rarely have we had hollandaise sauce so light and airy, salmon so mouthwatering good or eggs so perfectly poached. A real treat. We first discovered the cafe after a walk through the sculpture park full of Punga people and of course had fish and chips, our standard test... More

Stunning views for outdoor dining. Wide range of delicious salads and sharing plates such as nachos with salsa/avocado. Very friendly and helpful staff including students working whilst travelling. A most memorable experience.

The restaurant explains that they have a limited dinner menu on offer because they have to ship it all in (which is an expense). But how then do they manage to offer such a large range of items at lunchtime?

Dropped off by water taxi as cheaper than Lochmara's pick-up/drop-off service. Paid for day-visitor wrist band & walked around premises. Very attractive and well designed walks although could not find a lot of the animals. Coffee was fantastic and at mainland prices, had a play in the kayaks with the kids - all free to wristband holders or staying guests... More

This place is a relaxing experience for all the family. Yummy food ( especially the squid & mussel's ), great coffee & a good range of drinks. So easy to spend a few hours here as the children play on the beach, have something to eat & then do a tour or walk. Highly recommend the marine tour & underwater... More
