The food is really good with generous servings. The decor is perfect for a cafe located smack dab in the sandhills!

I stay in Burwell for work on Mondays and my wife and kids surprised me here today. I took them to this gem of restaurant for dinner. The food is excellent! Burgers are very good and the sandwich variety is awesome. I highly reccomend this place!
It's always good to come across good food in a small town. While not every part of our meal was great, there is obvious care in some of the choices and presentation. The pasta was delicious and they appear to have good soups that change every day, and you must finish your meal with pie, it was tremendous and where... More
Went for a drive with my Mom in central Nebraska and stopped here for lunch. It was delicious. We totally enjoyed ourselves. Good menu, plenty of variety. I can whole-heartedly recommend this restaurant, from the wonderful old building, the genuine atmosphere and the fast and friendly service. We live no where near here, but I'm now trying to plan a... Found in the friendly town of 1200 people, is the Sandstone Grill. People drive over 1 1/2 hours just for the privilege of eating at the Sandstone. The menu offers a variety of delicious, comfort food selections. There is a menu choice for everyone and you will not be unhappy but filled. Just leave room for one of the many... More
The cowboy surprise was pretty good but the blueberry pie was amazing--I have never had anything like it. The peanut butter fudge pie was a close second. The maple walnut came in third even though it was better than 98% of any other pie that I have eaten (I have had a lot of pie).
Excellent service and food, we highly recommend this restaurant. I had the salmon perfectly grilled, rice pilaf, steamed veggies and a roll. Had Corn bacon potato soup and definitely homemade. So good. We each had a piece of pie to go and we are enjoying that now. The friendly staff worked well together as they were filled to capacity.
Start with PIE! Blueberry with Almond will make you take back things you never stole. Bibb and Blue Salad Full bar with premium selection. Healthy menu selection. Historic Hardwood floors and elegant tin roof. Tenise (co-owner) is hostess with the mostess. Pie straight out of Michael the movie. Andy McDowell was singing about the pie in this place.
If you are looking for home cooked meal, this is the place. We had large group ranging in age from infant to 90 year old. Everyone was very happy with their choice. Friendly and knowledgable staff!!
