Food was fresh, including eggs. Pastries are homemade. Delicious. Very good portions of food for the price. Very nice ladies for waitresses. Definitely diner food, nothing fancy here. Probably no gluten free options. But delicious and great service.

We stopped at the City Café on a Wednesday morning and the place was packed. The food was great. The only issue we had was that the lone server was a little overwhelmed with the crowd. Our breakfast was served pretty quickly and well worth waiting for.

This is definitely small town Nebraska cafe. Arrow Hotel did not have breakfast so we walked to City Cafe for breakfast Sunday morning. Basic pancakes, eggs, bacon menu. It was all good. Cafe could use a bit of updating and cleaning. Overall good experience.

From the minute we walked into this locally-owned diner, we were charmed! From the old-fashioned booths, to the diner counter, to the coffee cups that don't match, this place just oozes character. The service was amazing - our waitress took an order for our 6-person party by memory - and the food was tasty. Our favorite: the cinnamon rolls. As... More

Stopped here for lunch on my way through town and was not disappointed. I had a half order of hot beef sandwich and it was very good. There were nice chunks of beef and the potatoes and gravy were also very nice. Most of the lunch crowd was having the special: chicken fried steak and it looked pretty good. Side... More

OK, Broken Bow is much larger than Lake Wobegon, but Betty's City Cafe is just like the Chatterbox. My breakfast that I had after walking the 1/2 block from the Arrow Hotel was what breakfast is supposed to be. Betty did it up, two eggs OE, bacon (there were four, count them four strips), wheat toast. So if you want... More

Charming, friendly, and excellent food. Everything is homemade - even the meat is above grade. The donuts are made on site and they supply the entire county with donuts. The butterfly donut was my favorite, the cinnamon rolls are like mom made! You cannot do better for breakfast..... anywhere.

A nice standard small town diner. Great egg/sausage/toast type breakfasts. While I don't usually go for donuts and sweet rolls, everyone else was pounding them down.

City Café is located just down the street from the Arrow Hotel where we stayed. Front desk at the hotel recommended City Café for breakfast and they were right on target. Wonderful breakfast choices with great sausage and omelets. Very friendly staff with that wonderful small town friendliness so nice to experience. Reasonable prices, great service and great food!

I have eaten here a couple times, their food is good WHEN you actually get it. I don't recommend going in on a day when meatloaf is the special. You will be lucky if you get your order in a timely fashion if you order something else besides the special. They have great breakfast food so my husband and I... More
