Driving in the middle of nowhere provides its own challenges, but if you find yourself anywhere near this place do make it a stop. My wife and I enjoyed the buffet with some of the best fired chicken and beef ribs we've ever had. Also...the baked beans were awesome. Sarah was our waitress and served us promptly and professionally.More

Burger done the way it should be. Hand patted served on a hot toasted bun. Philly cheesesteak was deemed one of the best. Coffee good strong not bitter

The diner is the only full service restaurant near the motel. The waitress provided excellent service but didn't seem happy in her job. The wait time after ordering was a bit too long. The shrimp was decent but my daughters chicken wings were not. They...lacked sufficient sauce and were of poor quality chicken.More

We were on our way back from Yellowstone and stayed at the nearby hotel. We went to Max's before hitting the road again. We ordered breakfast. Our server was friendly and our order came out as ordered. Our breakfast was good. It's diner food.

Great staff, not sure whomever made a bad review of them, but who we dealt with, she was a charm! We ordered to go since we got a room at the hotel next to it. Philly steak mac & cheese was pretty good, my husband...had the chopped steak dinner, he enjoyed it as well. He went later for a sundae, only thing I thought was the oddest was they gave it to him in a styrofoam cup.... But I guess they dont get too many to go ice cream orders? Decor, very cool! We will return for one of those famous cheeseburgers, but it was nice to have something different compared to truck stop restaurants. If able, we will be back.😳More

Excellent Service. Food not excellent, but not horrible. The lettuce in the salad could have been fresher not close to wilting. Tomatoes cloud be fresher also but salad was edible. Hamburger steak was suppose to be medium well but cooked well done with no peppers...or onions and no gravy go figure. Overall the food was mediocre but still edible. I will be back because the breakfast is to die for. I recommend breakfast but dinner is at your own risk.More

Stopped in this city for gas and debated to get food in the gas station or sit down and eat at Max's. We chose wrong. The waitress was friendly and the food came out quickly. But it was the worst meal I've ever had. I...ordered the pulled pork, one of my favorites at other restaurants. The sandwich had huge globs of fat instead of actual pork in a lot of it. It was supposed to come with fresh coleslaw on top but it looked like just a few sprigs of cabbage. The bun was fried in about a pound of butter. I also didn't like the fries as they are battered and something and that makes them more greasy and hard. I tried to eat it as we were starving and on a 24 hour drive home. My husband did not care for his sandwich and his mac and cheese looked like soup. The coffee was weak. Really wish we could get our 32 dollars back. We travel a lot and this is the worst place we've been.More

The absolute worst! Had a burger that was like a piece of wood, petrified. Ordered a salad that was not edible , wilted with a rotten tomato. Road kill would have been a better choice.
