The Hellroaring Saloon is a wonderful step back in time where the drinks are hefty and the food delicious and plentiful. Located on the ski hill across from the village, this eatery was once the base lodge for The Big Mountain, now known as Whitefish Ski Resort. Filled with nostalgic ski relics, and a throwback in time decor, this is a place where the locals come regularly, and the visitor can feel right at home. The pours are generous tend the food far better than the usual ski hill ‘eats.’ Sit at the bar, or near the fireplace and enjoy a delicious grilled cheese with soup, fish tacos, or a variety of chili. Fun, well stocked, fresh and appealing, this is a must for skiers.
Cheers!

My fiance and I visited Hellroaring Saloon & Eatery a couple of days before New Years. Their atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and cozy. This was our fourth dinner visit to this establishment, and we will keep coming back every year.
I had steak Alfredo (they were out of shrimp and subbed in steak) and my fiance had a steak. It was all delicious, cooked perfectly, and the service was phenomenal.
Highly recommend this place for dinner on the mountain side!

We are so glad we stumbled upon this gem! Evening dinner hours with an excellent menu and full bar. Gina was our server and made us feel right at home! She offered honest recommendations and answered all of our questions. Service was friendly and prompt, but not rushed.
We had the ahi tuna special as an appetizer and shared the bison skewers, salmon, and beet & gnocchi dish. My parents and I agreed - the beet & gnocchi dish was our favorite! Each dish was fresh and thoughtfully curated with nice presentation, but we are so glad Gina encouraged us to try the vegetarian dish. We even splurged on the huckleberry cheesecake. Every bite & sip of our visit was delicious.

We stopped here for lunch twice . The food is so good and you can’t miss the green chili, I had dreams about it❤️ lunch time is busy and your entire party needs to be present to be seated.
Try the specialty hot drinks, delicious . Service is amazing and prices are reasonable for a sit down meal with very friendly servers.
Only open until 5. Really not to be missed!

This was a bustling restaurant in Whitefish Mountain Village. I was a non-skier & walked in over the ski path, a little more difficult to get to than the skiers but worth the walk. It was a fun/charming place with tons of atmosphere. Wanted to do the shotski with the family & planned to come back but never did. The patio was nice & toasty with several heaters & clear plastic lined walls to see the views. Food & service was good considering it was packed for lunch.

Very good food, lots of drinks, funky signs and wall decor, Warren Miller videos playing on the television. Crowded and noisy with excited skiers packing the place.
We saw a plate of nachos that could have fed 8 people.

Very friendly staff here and a good menu. Large salads, good sandwiches and also good soups and chili, both green and red. Natchos are huge-order a half size! Good wines by the glass too.

My wife and I have been skiing at Whitefish Mountain and going to the Hellroaring Saloon every year for 2 weeks in January since 1994. We are from Northern California and love everything about the mountain(except the fog). We usually go to Hellroaring at least 3 times in the 2 weeks we are there. We have ALWAYS found Hellroaring to be great with their food and service. Some of the negative reviews I read I can't believe. The Saloon is usually packed at lunch time, but that's because it's a great place. The atmosphere in there is great and we have always found it to be friendly. We will definitely be going back this coming January.

We used this eatery to cater a rehearsal dinner last week.. Though pricy, the meal and service were excellent, especially since this event was way outside of Kalispel at a wedding barn venue. They were ready for our group of 23 even though we were 1/2 hour late arriving.

My how things have changed in 10 years!
We just beat the lunch crowd. Ordered chips and salsa and Guacamole. Burgers were very tasty. Had my first Water Works Citrus Seltzer! Loved it. Definitely recommend.

We hired Hellroaring to cater our wedding in Whitefish, MT. Adam was amazing with communication and was very professional! Their food was delicious, we had so many compliments from our guests! We had their food truck on-site the night before the wedding, it was a great touch and the food was outstanding. 10/10 would recommend!!

After heading into this restaurant after a morning of skiing my girlfriend and i were seated quickly and served our food quickly, a plus yes but then our waiter came to us and told us we needed to leave the table immediately. Upon further questioning MARGARET told us she was there to CHURN AND BURN TABLE AND NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS. After finishing our meal she then used profane language in front of children in a crowded restaurant. IT was shameful and downright uncomfortable. Not worth it on the mountain VERY UNFRIENDLY for a casual drink.

Group of us had lunch on our last day of ski trip. Even at 11:30 am on a good ski day, the place was packed. Food is very tavern like. It is an old school place.

Local who’s been enjoying the Hellroaring Saloon for 9 years now. They wouldn’t let me in because I just wanted a beer.
