After being disappointed with dinners in our hotel just down the road, we gave this place a try and were pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was very attentive and the menu choices were varied. Food was well prepared and presented and not too pricy.

We visited on a Friday night and started out with the Blackened Steak Tips. These were served on some greens with huckleberry – gorgonzola cream...and were awesome! I ordered the special that night, which was pork tenderloin on rice with and enchilada sauce...very good. My older son ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger, thumbs up and my younger son ordered the waffles and chicken...the chicken was good, but he was not a fan of the waffle. My wife had the soup of the day, chicken, rice and vegetables and a salad. Both were good. We finished the evening with some of the specialty flavored ice cream, which was great!

I am so happy there was over an hour wait at the golf course restaurant. The Last Chair was our second choice but is now perhaps my most favorite restaurant. It was amazing! I was there with three other people and we all considered our meal to be incredibly delicious! I had the macadamia nut encrusted steelhead trout and it was the best fish I’ve ever had. It was done perfectly and very flavorful. It was accompanied by delicious fingerling potatoes and perfectly grilled asparagus. My husband had the grilled tenderloin which he said rivals any steak anywhere. (And we travel and eat out a lot). We went during Covid and they were very careful regarding social distancing which I appreciate very much. We sat out on a lovely outdoor patio. The waitress was also wonderful and very professional and helpful. She was attentive without hovering. There’s many good restaurants in Whitefish but you should not miss the chance to eat at this restaurant.

With glowing reviews I booked a reservation far in advance. We had a large party and we were very hungry after a long day of travel and lack of sleep. The menu has an eclectic blend of cuisines non of which were well executed. The best tasting thing on the menu was sadly the tot-chos- a tater-tot dish. The mezze plate was quite bad. Pitas that were cold and soggy that were probably purchased from Safeway. The hummus and burrata were rather poor. All of the main dishes were lacking. The walleye sandwich tasted muddier than catfish and had no real breading on it. The chicken and waffles was so odd. Chicken tenders with a soggy thin waffle and a strange sauce and inedible collard greens. The Indian plate of butter chicken was cold and lacked any depth of flavor. No one at our table finished their dishes. The wait staff was seemingly uninterested and quite rude actually. We received salads while we were still eating appetizers and they asked us to keep our dirty silverware for our main coarse. Not what I expected at all. I rarely give reviews this poor and wish I didn’t have too but our experience certainly wasn’t that of the previous 100 reviews.

We were not the least bit impressed. Food was mediocre; not sure why everyone raves about the steelhead trout. It had little flavor, poorly plated and overpriced. Minimalist wine list is offered. Our server was slow to come to the table and acted very disinterested throughout the meal. This was our least favorite place in Whitefish and we cannot recommend.

If you can tolerate rude wait staff while enjoying a delicious meal - then this is a great choice for dinner. Our fifth time eating here, we love the food. Great choices for vegans, healthy portion sizes and the food comes out quickly and hot!
The all female wait staff is an angry bunch who treat their guests like you are inconveniencing them. There’s no “Welcome!” warmth, but rather a “What can I get you” tone. Last night the waitress stacked the dishes right at the table while we were trying to talk at the end of our meal. Clanking around, there was no offer for coffee or dessert, just the check slammed down in the center of the table. We have had this same experience on all five of our visits.
The wait staff aside, the food is what has kept us coming back. If the owners would pay as much attention to their service as they do the food - this establishment could be a five star choice!

Friendly wait staff and the menu had some unique and delicious items. This is a cute little place, not far from the ski mountain. We stop here on our way home from a day of hiking and arrived just after they opened but ahead of our reservation time. Told they could not seat us even though the place was mostly empty, though booked for reservations. No big deal so we came back at our scheduled reservation time and were seated at the same empty table we saw when were there earlier. We could have been seated at 5 when we first arrived, been done within 45 minutes, and they would have had another table to use for their busier dining time. Go figure. Nonetheless, great food and highly recommend.

Super fresh ingredients, well-balanced dishes and great selection of lighter as well as robust menu items. The local sources for their ingredients are displayed; nice to see. Restaurant describes its dishes as healthy American, and it really is! Each item we had (4 different dishes) was delicious. Located on the edge of downtown, we easily accessed it from the Snow Bus stop at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake since we didn’t rent a car. Sidewalk on side of road (side of road opposite main lodge). Easy 8-10 minute stroll to restaurant.

I’m sorry but this was slightly better than awful. We ordered macadamia crusted trout and received salmon. The Pad Thai was un-edible. I can not even begin to explain what flavor it had but that was not Pad Thai! My son’s burger was raw. We will not go back.

Sorry to hear that your experience was less than fantastic. To address a few of your concerns - steelhead trout and salmon are commonly mistaken for one another, but they are in fact very different fish! You are not the first to be confused. Second, our pad thai is savory rather than sweet - some people prefer one over the other, and it sounds like your family prefers more of a sweet pad thai. That's ok! As far as your son's burger temperature, we strive to get things right but cannot achieve perfection, and it is an easy fix to communicate with your sever and get that burger back on the grill! I hope this clears up a few concerns. Cheers!

Tot-chos are the appetizer of choice - amazing tater tots smothered in house queso, black beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, lime, etc. Your tip, only get a “half order” unless you have a party of 8. Entrees of hamburger (excellent), fresh steelhead trout, and Chair 8 burger were all excellent. Good service and COVID19 processes.

My family had a nice, relaxing and delicious dinner. We ordered some appetizers to kickstart our meal comprising of the Five Spiced Shrimp and Sweet Potato Fries. Our main meal involved the Steelhead Trout, Grilled Shrimp Caesar Salads and the Indian Platter. Everything was prepared well and were flavorful. For dessert, we ordered the scrumptious Creme Brûlée. Our server was very friendly and responsive. The restaurant has an intimate atmosphere.

An excellent restaurant just on the outskirts of Whitefish on the Lakeshore Road. Easy to find and plenty of parking.
As others have noted, very friendly and helpful staff and excellent food. Our party had a delicious spinach salad to share, followed by equally excellent entrees (steelhead trout and buffalo ragu). The food is not only great, but also fairly priced (not always the case price-wise with some downtown restaurants in Whitefish). A good selection of wines by the glass or bottle, and wide choice of beers, cocktails etc.
Well worth a visit and very much recommended.

The food is actually pretty good but the hostess we had was most unprofessional and rude. Made our dining experience horrible. She was completely unhinged. We got so much better service everywhere else we went in Whitefish.

Very nice evening meal at The Last Chair in Whitefish. WE both ordered the Steelhead Trout that is macadamia nut coated - was fantastic. The grilled Caesar salad was also very good and big enough to split between two. people. The coffee creme brûlée - amazing. Sara was our server and she was excellent. Highly recommend The Last Chair.

Cannot say enough about this meal. My daughter had a burger that she devoured and the sweet potato fries were fabulous. I had a Goody Bowl with tofu and an assortment of fresh vegetables and farro that was a cornucopia flavors that were out of this world. Would highly recommend this restaurant off the beaten oath
