We had trouble finding this place as the name Dauna's Deli did not appear on any sign outside the building. There was a sign on the inside that looked like it might be place outside sometimes, but not on the day that we ate there....The big sign on the building says "Basin Trading Post," so look for that. The food here was really good. The owner was in the back preparing the food and had a presumably new server taking orders. Hopefully with experience she will be more attentive to customers. We ordered sandwiches: club sandwich (big jack), ham and cheese melt, and pesto chicken wrap. All were good and recommendable. In the same building there is also a county museum which is interesting to look at and shows photos from the pioneer days. There is also a really cute craft/gift shop where we bought a few items.More

What a sweet find, I had an absolutely amazing French Dip Sandwich with the tenderest most tasty beef, I have ever had. This is cattle country and they really know what they are doing. If you go for lunch you will get a great slice...of life as this appears to be where most of the locals go. I would go back anytime I have the chance.More

We had the house daily special like the other folks packed in here. Maybe go after 1 pm when its less crowded. Fine food, friendly staff. same owner for years and she's the cook too. The coffee was really good and we are picky about...coffee. You are not coddled here so speak up if you are wanting something. This is a great stop on the road when traveling. The special was green beans, ham slice, and pasta (bow ties) with cheese mixed in as in mac and cheese. We loved this place.More
