We had a late reservation. We went to the hostess stand and we were seated immediately. The mussels were wonderful as well as the grilled Caesar salad. Our entrees were delicious we had the quail and the strip stake. I am always hesitant to order...a stake out because it is heard to beat our grilled stake that we fix at home. We were very impressed with the flavor.More

You can tell by reviews both poor management and food just ok. Management use to be fantastic until their manager left. He was on it. Answers all reviews (which is a sign they care) and the food use to be fantastic. Now a average steak...with no frills. Am canceling my reservations with friends for New Years. To bad because it use to be a place I raved about. But notice not too many 4 or 5 stars anymore.More

Food was great. Flies were awesome. Literally 20 + flies circled our table as we hunched over our plates waving our hands to keep them off main dish. Sacrificed side dish to the flies but they were not appeased. Called manager who said "What can...I do?" Close view of Montana insect wildlife. And these flies had attitude,! I took several pictures of about a dozen on a napkin I had put down moment before.More

We wanted a Montana steak, and this place in Red Lodge had been recommended to us by the place we were staying. The bartender and rest of the staff very friendly and service was good. The food was just average -- honestly we cook a...better steak at home, and the brussels sprouts were greasy and overcooked. Our favorite was the egg roll appetizer with shaved beef in it -- very tasty and well-seasoned.More

The good was good and steak came as ordered but like many restaurants in the area they don’t have much staff. We waited for awhile to order drinks and food! Be forewarned !

Visited this steakhouse last night. Had a reservation made days in advance. Based on past reviews on this site. It was the wrong choice. Checking in for our 7:15 pm reservation 15 minutes early. Told host we would have a drink at the bar until...our table was ready. Stood at the bar totally ignored for 4-5 minutes. Bartender finally comes over to us and asked if we needed something. Rum and coke and whiskey coke, ok ...$15! Seated we ordered appetizers, crab cakes and mussels. Sorry out of mussels. Crab cakes were charred black. Burnt was all you could taste. Two "cut of the day". Ribeye, 14 oz. At best. Not cooked properly. Tough and grisly. Total bill, $165. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant.More

Our daughter got married in the mountains and our home base was Red Lodge. We had her rehearsal dinner at Carbon County Steakhouse. It was wonderful! The food was excellent, the service perfect and the drinks fantastic! They did an excellent job of taking care...of our group of people. The sauce for the steaks was delicious!!! I can't say enough how pleased we all were with our experience.More

The service staff were helpful and attentive. The seating was fast. Unfortunately, all of our entrees came out extremely charred on the outside and rare in the middle after ordering medium-rare. Definitely tasted burnt with a hard, crispy layer of carbon noted at the grill...marks. Even the side veggies were charred and tasted burnt. Probably an off nightMore

Pains me to give the place a lower review. The food was great, local cut of meat (Gallagher) is excellent, char grilled cesar salad, etc.. The challenge was the place was super under staffed and seemed to have no one leading or managing. Two servers...covering the entire (busy) place was not fair to them... taking orders, serving, busing tables... no one helped them. Food arrived all at once, drinks never arrived, etc. Somehow I think this is not the norm.. but this was our experience. I'd give them another shot.More

We eat here a lot because it is one of few steak houses around. We eat at Edgars also but it’s a about 30 minutes away. The first times we ate her it was amazing. Juicy and plentiful. Always but once excellent service. But this...time there was some things that was off. Steaks ordered medium rare. Came with no juice at all. Medium rare always juices when cut. Jut pink (nor red) inside. Very dry. As were potatoes. Very dry. And vegetables could fit in a tablespoon. Very stingy with them. Snd they were tastiest of the whole meal. I gave it 4stars because of ambiance and excellent-waitress. I also noticed he manager that use to be there is replaced. Too bad because he was excellent. We probably will try again. Hope the chef can get back to what it use to be. Other locals say same thing.More

Had one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Very good service and food. We showed up about 45 minutes before our reservation and they accommodated us right away. Would recommend this steakhouse for anyone looking for a top notch meal. I...liked that the menu was not real big but everything on it looked like it would be excellent. The tomahawk steak was popular that night as there were a few tables that were enjoying it. We had the ribeye and tenderloin and they were perfect. Absolutely delicious!!More

We had a reservation for our group of 12 and we had 2 tables. I was very impressed with my 6oz filet and mashed potatoes. It was an excellent meal that hit the spot after a long day of hiking. The rest of the group...loved their meals as well. The vegetarians in our group were very satisfied with the options and thought everything was delicious.More

I made reservations online days before. We were hiking and called 15-20 minutes after our reservation time. This was as soon as I could due to cell coverage. We were told they could not accommodate us. So, don’t be late! They are busy. We went...right next door where the service was great and ambience perfect. We enjoyed a beverage and appetizer. We sat by the fire outside and waited until later when I found a table at the Steakhouse online. Interestingly, we were seated twenty plus minutes past our reservation time. The server was great. Very friendly and efficient. The crab cakes were undercooked and like crab salad with a crisp outside. The steak had great flavor and potatoes tasted okay as well. All in all, our experience was okay.More
