Butterfly Herbs is a longstanding Missoula hangout which was formerly housed at the Hipstrip, but has been downtown Missoula for several decades. It is the original Missoula coffee shop and sells specialty herbs, candies, cards, soaps, jewelry, candles, drinks & simple meals and many surprises visitors will want to see.

Not all that much as a restaurant, but GREAT coffee and delectable pastries. The store is the big draw, with coffee beans and teas (including several of its own, like "Evening in Missoula") from all over, as well as an excellent selection of herbs & spices. Lots of interesting stuff upon which you can empty your wallet for decorating home... More

This was a great place for a coffee in the afternoon. Everything reminded me of the 70/s and 80's. Excellent collection of loose teas, coffee, spices and herbs.

A Missoula institution. Best place to buy tea & coffee in town, probably the state. Also has a nice coffe bar with bagels & sandwiches. Great gift items too.

My wife and I have been going to Butterfly Herbs for the past 20 years or so. Besides offering a wide selection of whole bean coffees and teas, Butterfly also offers fresh herbs in bulk, candies, and a whole assortment of jewelry, lamps, calendars, etc. The back of the store is a coffee shop/restaurant offering drip coffee as well as... My family and I walked in to look at the tea and goods. We have always had a positive experience here before but when we walked up to the counter, the employee was reading a text message on his flip phone... After ordering chocolate gummy bears, the employee continued to read his text message and with no eye contact, the... More

Stopped in to Butterfly Herbs on a last-minute recommendation from a local, and glad I did. Their chocolate hazelnut iced coffee was delicious, and the overall vibe in the store is the epitome of Montana crunchiness.

This store/restaurant has a little bit of everything. The sandwiches are wonderful and generous. After eating you can enjoy the many herbs/spices/coffees and other things for sale. A truly unique place to eat and shop.

Going to the Butterfly downtown is like going back in time as it is housed in one of Missoula's very old medical drug stores. The ceilings are high, wooden floors are worn beautifully and shelves are lined in fine smelling coffees, teas, spices, herbs, extracts and you can shop for everything and especially for treasures you are looking to give...
