So - you know how when someone changes their name and maybe the restaurant changes. This happened. Finn might be fine - coming here for a few drinks with your bff's. Not for dinner. And if for dinner...don't order fish. And the dessert is all...outsourced with piecrust the consistency of noodles.
I freely admit that one of my problems might have been managing expectations. No longer really a restaurant, although they serve food. Just a bar. With some food. And the bar is questionable. Don't order wine that is anything in the sparkling category by the glass...bottle has been open too long and there are no bubbles. I looked around though, and it seemed that lots of people were drinking and having fun so...don't come here for the food. Or for a celebration of any sort. Might be fine for a casual drink and pizza night...except prices are really high for the quality.
River views are fine, but, again, not worth the cost. For free, you can go see river views from the bridge.
So - antipasto platter mostly okay. Salmon so overcooked was dry. Like DRY dry. Really dry. I was hungry...I vaguely wondered if they got it from Sysco and it was just microwaved. Halibut slightly more un-dry. As in, less dry. But not much.
Can't comment on the steak or the burgers...but for a hefty price for a burger, they do use American "cheese". No choice...no option for real cheese. This should have clued me in.
Anyway. We won't be back. Missoula has a ton of places for good drinks, nice conversation, good camaraderie. If you want good food with your good drink, this isn't it.
I think it's just changed from decent food to an upscale bar that happens to serve some food. And we missed that shift. And it's pricey for what you get.More
