I asked a local friend who was meeting me to catch up. I asked for recommendation for dinner. He said Finn. I replied, it is a restaurant in the hotel. Does he prefer that? He said absolutely. This restaurant located at the Doubletree Hotel is...a local favorite. And it was. This restaurant just happens to be at the Hotel complex. Dinner and beverage selection was solid and a very nice view of the river.More

Made an advanced reservation for a specific table, however we were seated elsewhere. The requested table was open, but husband didn’t want to cause a kerfuffle. Ordered a glass of rose which took 30 minutes to arrive. The waitress said the bartender (there’s only one!?!)...was very backed up. Food was good but came out poorly timed; entrees immediately after the salads were served. Maitre’d sauntered around with a water pitcher looking busy, but never actually did anything. Had to ask waitress to refill waters several times throughout meal. We’ve become increasingly frustrated with the slow service here and will be taking a break from eating out at Finn.More

Met up with Missoula friends here when we were passing through town. Food was well-cooked and presented. My BFF had the Steak Frites with house-made worcestershire, and I ordered the Achiote Marinated Halibut with avocado crema, fried hominy, red cabbage, and sour apple-jicama slaw. We...both enjoyed our meals and also the views of the river as we chatted with our friends.More

Popular place on a weekday. We had a nice table with a view of the river. Ordered pizza, salads, and beers. Service was friendly enough but slow. The pizza was really crispy and tasty. It’s in a large hotel, so it’s a bit loud. Asked...to sit outside, but the wait list was too long.More

Lovely location, especially if you have river view. Extensive menu. Huge portion for goat cheese pizza-- easily shareable. Somewhat impersonal, however. Only went once during visit to the hotel.

The margherita pizza was fantastic. The crust was perfectly cooked and not too thick. The toppings were fresh and plentiful. This is a can’t miss dinner option. It’s also on the Happy Hour menu at a reduced price. The views of the river from inside...and on the patio are stunning.More

We were staying in the hotel so decided to try breakfast. They have limited GF options. The members of our family that chose to eat there said their food was good, would order again.

Chased into the women’s bathroom like a criminal, in front of other business owners Griz coaching staff, athletes and alum by Celia the hostess because I was carrying my purse. I was there celebrating, as a widow, my wedding anniversary when chased down by Celia....Not only did she have the disgrace.to giggle to the next set of colleagues waiting to be seated, but the “manager” asked what else I wanted as she apologized?! How about FINN to not let that behavior happen ever. I will never take another colleague or family member to that establishment again. Do not ever go to the restroom if you are alone in FINN-they will chase you down Ike a criminal!More

So - you know how when someone changes their name and maybe the restaurant changes. This happened. Finn might be fine - coming here for a few drinks with your bff's. Not for dinner. And if for dinner...don't order fish. And the dessert is all...outsourced with piecrust the consistency of noodles. I freely admit that one of my problems might have been managing expectations. No longer really a restaurant, although they serve food. Just a bar. With some food. And the bar is questionable. Don't order wine that is anything in the sparkling category by the glass...bottle has been open too long and there are no bubbles. I looked around though, and it seemed that lots of people were drinking and having fun so...don't come here for the food. Or for a celebration of any sort. Might be fine for a casual drink and pizza night...except prices are really high for the quality. River views are fine, but, again, not worth the cost. For free, you can go see river views from the bridge. So - antipasto platter mostly okay. Salmon so overcooked was dry. Like DRY dry. Really dry. I was hungry...I vaguely wondered if they got it from Sysco and it was just microwaved. Halibut slightly more un-dry. As in, less dry. But not much. Can't comment on the steak or the burgers...but for a hefty price for a burger, they do use American "cheese". No choice...no option for real cheese. This should have clued me in. Anyway. We won't be back. Missoula has a ton of places for good drinks, nice conversation, good camaraderie. If you want good food with your good drink, this isn't it. I think it's just changed from decent food to an upscale bar that happens to serve some food. And we missed that shift. And it's pricey for what you get.More

This restaurant is located in the Double Tree hotel and it overlooks the river for a great dining experience... There's a classy vibe with a circle bar that's showcased in the middle of the restaurant. There's plenty of flat screens and I'm sure this would...be a great place to watch a sporting event over some cocktails and a view of the river. This is a definitely a restaurant you can get dressed up for yet there were plenty of guests in casual wear and I'm assuming their hotel guests. Our server was very friendly and the kitchen got our dishes to the table quickly. Nice work... French Onion Soup: Absolutely delicious. The cheese was melted to perfection and the soup was extremely savory. Ribeye with cauliflower: The ribeye was generous in size and the cauliflower was plenty enough for a side. The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium rare and made for a great evening. Asparagus: crispy, fresh and paired perfectly with my ribeye. Well this was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't sure what to expect of the Finn and the the overall ambiance, service and quality dishes would bring me back next time I'm in the area.More
