We met some family members for dinner here on New Year's Day. We were seated just a few minutes when the remaining four members of our party came in so we didn't linger in the dining room for long. Our menus and drinks were delivered promptly however it took forever to get a children's menu and when we did get the menu there was four items on it for kids. Hardly worth the wait. The four adults and two children eventually ordered off a regular menu. the feedback I received around the table was the food was very good. The service was just a little lacking. I enjoyed my beer which was the Oatmeal Stout. My husband said his spinach salad was the best he's had in a restaurant and I'm very much enjoyed the fish and chips. One of our party had the French dip, a man with a very large appetite and he was unable to eat it all it was such a large serving. Since this was our first visit I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and we'll try again. Hopefully the service will be improved.

Tamarack has become a go-to for many locals. They have a good variety of beer, and many of their meals are good, though not great. Their beers come in various brew styles, and most of them have clever names: Bare Bottom Blonde, Rye Sally Rye PA, or Sip 'N' Go Naked Apricot Ale. They also serve goodies for kids from the menu and their own root beer brew (named Training Wheels). Plus, kids eat free on Mondays, as long as one adult entree is ordered! Tamarack has a pretty good atmosphere, along with limited outdoor seating. Be prepared for a good deal of noise, though. Design engineers and architects really need to be trained in ways to deaden sound!

Because of COVID We had a social distance picnic with my sister who lives in Missoula when we came through town. We ordered food to go from Tamarack. My salad has bacon in it and so they offered to remake it for me. I told them to call me when it was ready and I would run back up and get it. All of a sudden there was Ross and she came and brought it all the way down by the river to me instead. It was the sweetest thing. They made me a beautiful salad all over again minus the bacon! The little things often become the big ones... We eat here every time we come into town and now that tradition will never end!!! Thank you for going above and beyond!!!

A lady in our hotel recommended this place to my wife and I. I ordered a Reuben sandwich that was more fat than meat. It’s obvious they use the cheapest cut of meat. My wife had grilled salmon which was also horrible. She has salmon out regularly in our home state and I consider her a connoisseur. Maybe for bar food this is a good place to eat, not for dinner!

Nice place, we liked it, but it did not live up to the ratings. We like the ambience. And the staff was very friendly, good service. I had a flight of beer, they were all good. But nothing to write home about. None of them pushed my buttons. We also had the “Railroad ties“ appetizer that was recommended by the bartender. I found them good, but mostly blah. We also had the fish tacos. Once again I found them blah and uninspiring. They were good, but but nothing special. Overall, great service, and great atmosphere. The high Trip Advisor ratings might have skewed our expectations. The food and beer are good, but I wouldn’t say great.

Came here for a take out pizza but stayed for the other food choices. We had spinach artichoke dip and chicken wings. The dip was loaded with garlic. Being a huge fan of garlic I was in heaven, I you don't like garlic then do not order this dip. The apricot BBQ wings were wonderful and it came with fries which we upgraded to garlic blue cheese fries. All the food was wonderful and plentiful, we left with full bellies. I plan to have the kobe beef burger next time we are in town.

Went with friends for dinner and a brew. The brew was very good but the food was disappointing. My friend and I had beef sandwiches which were good, and our wives had chicken strips. They came covered with some fire sauce which rendered them non edible. The chicken was wet inside the breading and I suspected it was left over from the day before and microwaved. Not good. Neither wife ate it. The service was good and the atmosphere fine. They need to refurb the menu. Just my opinion.

Waited 15 minutes at hostess station before finally being acknowledged, despite several waitresses passing by. We came as a family of 5 and were then told that we would have to go find a table downstairs (that they might or or might not have) or wait until one opened up on the first level. I pointed to an open table and was told that they couldn't seat us there because it was for larger parties. Nevermind that the family that just sat there and left had 6 people in it. Not impressed. If you aren't a perfect 4 person nuclear family or a party of 8, I wouldn't bother.

Do not under any circumstances go to Tamarack Brewing Company unless you are really hungry, the portions are huge and the service is first class. We had the 1/2 order of Nachos, they are amazing and you cold feed six people with a half order. The service is incredible, we sat on the patio and it was if we were the only guest in the restaurant. All our food was delicious and affordable.

We have always enjoyed this place. Stopped by around 3:15 for a late lunch. Thought we would eat off of their happy hour menu, as their website shows a daily happy hour from 3-6. Our waiter went to check on a happy hour menu and returned, telling us that they were no longer doing happy hour on weekends. I didn’t push it, but did ask the waiter to speak with management so that they could eliminate the two mentions regarding daily happy hour. Went ahead and ordered off of the regular menu. Got the fish and chips. When the waiter brought out the order, there was no side of coleslaw. The waiter didn’t mention anything. When I inquired about the slaw, he told me that they were out. He didn’t offer to substitute anything for the slaw. When I asked for a substitute, he left and came back, offering me a side salad, which I took. This should have been automatic and I shouldn’t have needed to ask for it. Our experience today was poor!!

They did not brew any Hazy IPA during my visit - a minor disappointment. The Rueben sandwich was very good and filling, while the Apricot Wheat was my favorite beer. I just did not care for the interior - it was dark and gloomy. The seating outside faced the parking lot. Good location close to river path.

Just had a delicious lunch at Tamarack Brewery! As busy as it was they seated us quickly. Our server was very efficient and a sweetheart! I had the HUGE and tasty pulled pork burrito which came with a delicious flavorful side of chili beans, and yummy nacho chips. I took 1/2 of it home! My husband had the Reuben sandwich. There was plenty of lean corned beef in it! He had an order of French fries that were so good-crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. He also enjoyed the beer selection. We’ll be back!

We stopped here on way to Billings based on TA recommendations and it didn’t disappoint. Huge portions of really good pub food! Fish tacos had a great slaw and fish was cooked perfectly with a light breading. It was enough for two meals. The other orders were a Brie chicken sandwich (yummy) and pizza with fresh toppings and perfect crisp crust. We ate outside and were placed appropriately apart for Covid. Restrooms were really clean as well. We are hoping to visit again when not traveling so far, so we can enjoy try their beers with the food.

We ate here on a Sunday night and they were busy! But we never felt rushed or neglected (even though our waiter picked up a table of over 15 people while we were there). The half keg nachos with bison had more than plenty of toppings (I am not sure how large of a group you need to be to eat the full one!). The mac and cheese was also an ample serving and was a favorite of ours. The beer choices were exactly what we were looking for - thanks for a great night!

Cool place, beer is decent, service was friendly but poor. Had to get our own silverware from the servers stand, beer glasses sat empty way too long, forgot parts of the order. Food was hit or miss with more misses than hits. Chips and guc....plain unsalted chios with a guac that had so much red onion in it that is all you could taste. Montanan pizza....could be good but ours came out soggy. Brie Chicken....that cook loves onions. Bland dry chicken. Big sky burger was good. Mac and cheese sure could use more cheese. Lots of other better places to go.
