No trip to downtown Missoula would be complete without a visit to the Uptown Diner. Burgers, fries and old-fashioned malts and shakes served with whipped cream and a cherry. Can't be beat.

Go in for the atmosphere. Plenty of food and taste great. If you are counting calories, not the place. Great diner food.

They serve a wicked breakfast - try the Veggie Browns - and I love their tomato soup and melt sandwich. Always fun floating back to the fifties.

We went for breakfast at this place and it was excellent. Ham and eggs and bacon and eggs. Done the way we ordered good portions and great hashbrowns. Old style diner décor and furniture and its been around awhile. Lots of great memorabilia on the walls. We had lunch here about a year ago and it was excellent to. Very... More

It's been here forever-it must be amazing, right? Well....not exactly. Firstly-it is dirty. We sat in a front window booth, beside a swarm of black bugs trying to escape. The floor doesn't seem to have been vacuumed since the 1950's. The decor is vintage and the paint colors are cute and the curved windows are quaint. However, it is hard... More

We were looking for a diner with a varied breakfast and lunch menu. Uptown Diner was recommended to us by a local. The retro decor, music and soda fountain bar were so inviting and we were excited to be there! That was the best part of our experience. The service was S L O W, but they were busy so... More

Classic diner color scheme--midwestern food menu. Pleasant atmosphere, good food , great service and phenomenal hand-dipped milkshakes made-to-order. The blueberry shake was fantastic, just what I wanted. I was at the diner about 3 yrs ago and it has maintained good standards in quality of food and service. One of my favorite places in Missoula.

There is often a wait to get in for breakfast, and I can't quite figure it Service was exceptionally slow and inattentive (more coffee........please??) and the food was less than even run-of-the-mill diner fare It is relatively inexpensive, and it should be

Everyone was very welcoming & nice. Old style diner, "like the good old days". Service was quick & food was delicious. Nothing fancy, just great food. Also allot of home town feel, camaraderie, & old memorabilia on the walls & ceiling. Books to porous as well. Will definitely stop in again.

Think of Happy Days and you have a good mental image of the Uptown Diner. It has American food cooked to order ( none of that microwave crap). Try the burger, fries and a milkshake. Just like the 50's!
