This is the French bistrot seen from a Montana angle. Everything so good and fresh. I particularly enjoyed the ratatouille and the bison filet so tender and lean on a bed of parsnip puree.

Gastronomic heaven, right here! If you want a foodie experience with amazing ambiance, this is the ticket!! Reservations required and get the wine flight to enhance. Petit filet the best I’ve ever had and the French onion soup top notch!!!

The 2nd Street Bistro is decorated with many tall candles with long dripping wax tails. They also have a votive candle near the entrance with the image of Saint Anthony of Bourdain whose alcohol fueled visit to Livingston brought attention to this restaurant. The food...here is excellent. Our four course $85 prix fix meal started with poached artichoke hearts for my lover, and a single duck egg ravioli topped with asparagus for me. The ravioli surprise was the filling was a bright yellow yolk still liquid like a poached egg. My second was an outstanding French onion soup with rich beef broth and my wife had a traditional and tasty Caesar salad made with an intact Romain lettuce leaf. She chose perfectly cooked lamb riblet and an entree while i select a Waygu beef steak thinly sliced. Dessert was an espresso martini for her and a cheese plate for me. The chef has some more adventurous selections on the monthly menu such as a tripe appetizer and a skate wing entree. Perhaps we would try something less traditional on a future visit. They have a large and fairly priced wine list with both French and domestic bottles. This is a special occasion restaurant with a civilized atmosphere, good service and great food.More

Michelin awards three stars to restaurants which are worth a journey and the Second Street Bistro is certainly very well worth a journey. In its current mode of operation it is only open for dinner and only open three days a week. Reservations are absolutely...essential. There is just one seating per table and so you have your table for the entire evening. The menu changes monthly and is four courses for $75. There are about four choices for each of the courses. We make the journey to the Bistro monthly and it has been absolutely superb each time in terms of food, ambience, and service. Some years ago Anthony Bourdain visited the Bistro, gave it an excellent review and featured it on his television show. It’s even better now. We have dined in fine restaurants all over the world and the Second Street Bistro is equal to the best of them.More

The food is excellent with ultra fresh and unique choices. The interior fits perfectly with the vibe of the place. If you make it to Livingston this is the place but get a reservation in advance.

Went on our annual fishing trip, with six friends. Found Second Street Bistro. Spent 3 hours, enjoying and unpressured great dining experience. Rabbit, Elk, Beef, Duck, we had it all. Our Server, Rihana, was the BEST. Knew the menu, and gave great suggestions. We will...definately be back if we get back to Livingston. I'd give 10 stars if I could.....More

This was such a lovely, relaxing evening. A well made cocktail and a nice wine list at reasonable prices. The 4 course tasting menu is now $70 per person and worth every penny. All the vegetables on the summer menu are from the restaurant’s own...garden! The menu changes monthly. When you book a table, it is yours for the whole evening which was lovely. There was time to relax between each course and enjoy the atmosphere, service was attentive and friendly. The soups (borscht and French onion) were extraordinary- the beef broth in the onion soup to die for. All the food was lovely, carefully presented and delicious. Be sure to make your reservation well ahead as the restaurant is only open a few days each week. Highly recommended.More

We go frequently to the Bistro in Livingston. It NEVER disappoints. Lately the chef Brian has been doing a fixed price menu which has been over the top. For $50.00 you get appetizers, soup or salad, entree, dessert. All are exceptional. If you are on...Brian's email, he sends a reminder of this month's menu and it is just more fun than anything. I am pretty sure that he will be booked up into the next month here pretty soon, so if you want to get in CALL EARLY!More

Great bistro! I've visited this place twice and enjoyed it both times. They have a terrific french onion soup, various braised dishes that are great comfort food, and, last but not least, try the jalapeno infused margarita.

This place rocks. Sat in the bar area. The bartender-server, "Nate" I think his name was, was supurb. The food, fantastic. Seemed like a good mix of well-healed locals and tourists. The cocktails were abot the best I've had. The fresh, homade ravioli was good,...and I understand the vary that offering nightly. Bread-the best I've eaten in years. Highly recommended if in SW Montana, which I am often.More
