Great food and fun atmosphere

Gil's is a Livingston landmark. It's our go-to restaurant in the afternoon or evening when we don't feel like cooking at home. We like to order on the Murray Bar side (next door) and enjoy music (if there's a band) or watch a game (TV with the sound OFF... yay!). I think Gil's has the best burgers in town (esp. the Murray Burger) and their pizzas are just right with thin crust cooked with fire. Service is always polite and friendly.

Great food not comfortable

Overall this restaurant has great food. The fire brick pizzas we’re great. They are not afraid to use strong flavoring when it comes to there pizzas, and they were right on the mark. The restaurant has a fun atmosphere. The only reason I did not give them five stars, is because their tables and chairs are not very comfortable. I would say this is a must stop if you are passing through town.

Gil's is Livingston's go to restaurant for hamburgers, pizza and a darned good breakfast

The saying here is Gil's Got IT, and that is the truth. They have an outstanding breakfast and lunch menu, and I love their bakery of fresh pastries, including something that is a cross between a croissant and a donut. The owner of Gil's is the same imaginative chef that fuels the Bistro. If you want something fairly quickly, but good and with the possibility to sit outside. Gil's is it.

Salad Not What We Were Expecting

We ordered one margherita pizza and one Greek salad for 3 people, based on the person at the cash register saying it would be enough food for 3 people. The pizza was average sized, but the salad was very small and we ended up having to order more food. We expected the Greek salad to have feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, olives, etc., but it was mostly just lettuce. There were flecks of feta in it and only 2 pieces of cucumber. While the dressing was tasty, I would not classify this as a Greek salad. Very pricey for the size and contents of the salad. The pizza, however, was very tasty.

VERY EXSPENSIVE

WAY OVERPRICED $20 dollars for a chicken Ceasar salad!!!!! That's just ridiculous. We ordered to go as there was no available seating inside and were charged a dollar for every item that was to go. I felt this was completely unfair considering we had no where to sit and eat and secondly social distancing is encouraged in the midst of the virus, so why try advantage of people in a pademic??

Great Lunch Find

We were traveling through Livingston on a Sunday looking for a local lunch find. Gil's Goods was a great find. You order at the counter and can sit at one of there tables or in the adjoining bar. We shared a beautifully crafted pizza and an an amazing entrée s salad, which made nice lunch portion. The pizza menu had some very interesting choices as well as the option to create your own. The pizzas are crisp and dinner plate sized. A "handmade soda" complemented the meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were some beautiful looking pastries in the cabinet, but we did not partake.

Great pizza, friendly service

Had an extended family gathering here with a group of 10 after a day rafting the Yellowstone. Very friendly and accommodating service. The pizzas and salads were devoured by all! My 3 kids (12,11,7) loved the peperoni pizza, Greek Lamb pizza and Greek Salad. The S.O.P. and spicy BBQ were delicious. My brother-in-law ate a whole Hot Hawaiian. I don't think you can go wrong with this menu. Other than pizza and salad they also have burgers and sandwiches as well as take and bake items. A must stop when in Livingston!

it used to be so good....

this place used to be my favorite for pizza. it changed hands and not only did the proces go up significantly..steak frites went up form 18 to 28 dollars..the food is now terrible. the pizza is inedible...so much cheese with no toppings. so sad as this was one of our favorite restaurants.

Styrofoam takeout containers?

Styrofoam takeout containers? Really, Gils? Super, super lame! I asked a manager about this six months ago (didn’t want the write a negative review about an otherwise great establishment) and was told it was just a stocking error and would be fixed in no time. It hasn’t been. I’ll update this review when I see that they eliminate this lazy environment-damaging product.

Needs Improvement

Cute place with some good food offerings. We both had the Wagu beef burgers - american and the other with hatch green chili. Who cooks wagu burgers into hockey pucks? Omg...mine was so dry! 😥 Side salad had a great light vinaigrette . Staff take a few moments to clean your place! Massive pile of sand in front of front door. Doors and windows dirty inside and out. Catsup bottle had not been cleaned in many moons, bug in the lid. No one inquired to how are meal was....yet we are supposed to tip for great service when ordering. Needs to step it up!

Gil’s…a much better choice than Campione!

After getting totally dissed by the “hostess” at Campione for not having reservations, we were delighted by the charm and enthusiasm of our waitress, Sage, at Gil’s Goods. We had the margarita pizza and, at Sage’s recommendation, the falafel pizza. Both pizzas were amazing and we ate every last piece! Also the NY Yankees were playing the Red Sox on tv there…an added bonus! Thanks, Sage, for making our last night in Montana exactly what we hoped for! Reader, don’t believe the hype about Campione. Locals and tourists alike prefer Gil’s!

Gotta Give This Place a Try!

An eclectic and well attended eatery. Their burgers are terrific and you shouldn't leave here hungry. They do make true oven fired pizzas, but we didn't have those, but what I saw looked terrific. We will certainly make this a dining destination on our next trip to Livingston, MT.

The pizza was order by a couple both the fungi and chicken and both were great. Also ordered was the Cuban sandwich and buffalo chicken sandwich which were great. The service was fast and pleasant. Good place to eat.

Poor ordering system, good food

We found ordering for a party of 5 from counter frustrating. Staff seemed to expect us to be ready to order even though no menu obvious anywhere but at register. We sat in adjoining Murray’s bar area as seating area was limited and quite chilly given doors opened. Food arrived promptly and as ordered. Salads, pizza, and boneless wings were all good,
