I went to dinner here with my wife and son during a visit to Glacier NP. Even though it wasn't so busy, we sat at the bar and were served by a lady who seemed like the owner (maybe). Everything was excellent, food, drinks, and service.
We all had the specials. I had a chicken curry that was excellent and not afraid to have some spice. My wife and son split a 28 oz. bone-in wagyu ribeye that was amazing. It was nice that they had an option to order the sides for both people and just split the cut of meat. We had a nice time talking to the server and each other.
The inside of the restaurant was decorated nicely and kind of felt like a speakeasy type atmosphere, but without any emphasis on drinking. The server commented something about not serving whiskey, but they did have beer and wine (I'm not sure on the liquor). I'd definitely recommend if you are looking for mid- to up-scale dinner. There were some more reasonable options, but the wagyu steak wasn't cheap, lol.

While Hops doesn’t have a gluten-friendly menu, they do help you find options that meet your dietary restrictions. I had a burger without a GF bun and my husband had a bison burger with GF bun. We both enjoyed our meals and our server Amy was very friendly and accommodating.

Hops has a very unique menu consisting of yak, bison and elk burgers along with beef burgers and other more traditional dishes. I ordered the Hunter’s Trio (yak, bison, elk sliders) so I could try all three meats. The elk and bison were okay. I liked the yak which had a sweeter taste. My husband had the fish and chips which he said was very good. We read other reviews that raved about the meatloaf and lasagna. Our server, Daysha, was very friendly, cheerful and knowledgeable. The restaurant is very small and busy, thus we had a 45 minute wait to be seated. They do not take reservations. They are only open for dinner (and closed on Sundays), so I would suggest going there for an early dinner. We recommend dining at Hops if you want to try something different.

A friend ordered us all the huckleberry burger, at first I questioned his choice. the crispy shallots and arugula looked odd. Boy was I wrong. Looks can be deceiving because this was by far the best burger I have ever eaten. The fries were great as well. Since then we have ordered this burger on several occasions ,” they forgot the crispy shallots one night though.” I will definitely be ordering this burger again soon in fact.

With a one night stay we asked our hotel receptionist for a local recommendation—she suggested Hop’s downtown.
We arrived about 6 and it was packed with a 25 minute wait. We added our names to the list and wandered about. Less than 15 minutes later we got a call saying they had an opening at the bar.
We had the elk burger with house made coleslaw and steamed salmon with wild rice and broccolini. All was tasty and filling. We also shared a Cesar salad.
The backdrop of the bar has album covers from the 70’s with a bear head as the centerpiece. Staff run at lightening speed serving customers. Despite the close knit tables, people were friendly and courteous. Classic Montanan down home neighborliness.

The burgers are great! The staff is a little under whelming. They don’t take responsibility for their mistakes or the restaurants mistake and offered not compensation when 3 of us had our food and our 4th member had to wait another 30mins for her food when they delivered the completely wrong item. Not even the wrong burger, just a wrong order. The waitress didn’t even apologize. Just said it would be fixed. It was but awkward waiting for our friend order to be delivered. Again no compensation on our ticket for THEIR MISTAKE. leaves a bit of sour taste. We haven’t been back since. We used to go once a month.

My husband and I have been frequent diners at Hops whenever we visit Montana over the last few years and have always been very happy with the food and the service. Recently, we were having a dinner party and were fortunate to be able to host this at Hops. I truly cannot say enough about how welcome the owners, Tim and Dana, made us feel and how the rest of the staff treated our family and friends like their own loved ones. The food was spectacular, especially the prime rib and cheesecake, and the meal was timed to perfection, even though we had multiple tables ordering at the same time. I cannot speak enough volumes about how special the night was for our guests and how much we enjoyed having dinner at Hops - we will be lifelong visitors now!

Super busy on a Sunday evening. A little over hour wait but headed across street to the Grand hotel to wait in peace. Very small dining area and can be very loud but service was super and elk lasagna and bison burger along with duck wings and $30 wine bottle special sealed the deal. Highly recommend

We arrived at 6pm on a Thursday. There was a 20 minute wait and they took our phone number and texted us when a table was available. Our server was Amy, she was fantastic! We started with a large caesar salad which was delicious and the warm bread that came with the best garlic spread on earth. We then ordered our meals, I chose the meatloaf based off other positive reviews and it was excellent, every bite had a different flavor. My husband had the garlic Alfredo with chicken, it was very good but we both agreed the meatloaf was better. Best meatloaf we’ve ever tasted!

Hops was recommended by our Airbnb owner and we decided to check it out. Nice little place in downtown Kalispell! We had a party of 4 and had to wait about 25 minutes, but it was well worth the wait. We had been hiking all day and we were starving.
Order appetizers (the poutine was fabulous) and dinner. Yak burger was sweet and with the heat they put on it made it delicious. The others ordered burgers and ate every bite. I ordered the elk lasagna at the recommendation of the server and can honestly say it was perfect. Perfect amount of cheese and sauce with no gamey taste.
We would highly recommend you stopping in if you’re in the area!

The food is amazing, and the atmosphere is relaxing. We had the elk lasagna and meatloaf. Both were good, but the meatloaf was the BEST I’ve ever had. The portions are huge; I wish they offered a small and large size as I was leaving the next day so leftovers were difficult to deal with. Go early or expect a wait.

So strongly recommended by friends and hotel staff that we dined there on a busy Friday evening.... w/o a reservation! Hostess gave an accurate prediction of about how long we’d wait. Interesting menu posted outside front door. You could see a professional had chosen the menu for breadth and some locally sourced, Rocky Mtn variations on the big 4 of normal main ingredients: chicken, fish, beef, pork. We knew what we wanted before sitting down. Waiter and bus staff attentive, but not hovering. Room was packed, but we and the nearby tables seemed to get appetizers and main dishes promptly...and hot. The plank fries appetizer a fun variation on the theme: thick cut wedges the length of a large potato and stacked Inman impressive looking framework. My wife craved greasy vegetables after days in Glacier. She loved every bite of the beet salad. The description of their beef/pork meatloaf bagged me. Garlic mashed potato and fresh veggie included. Meatloaf portion generous, moist, hot, seasoning interesting,. Gravy rich and flavorful, steamed fresh veggie neither soggy nor crunchy. Dining room not large, every bit of space well-used but not quite crammed. This is obviously run by people who know what they are doing, require well-trained kitchen and wait staff, and want to please. They did!

Three words…huckleberry prime rib! Run don’t walk. Hands down one of the best meals we have ever had. Server recommended the duck wings appetizer and they did not disappoint. Service was outstanding. Atmosphere was warm & quaint. Wine & beer only.

My husband and I were first in line waiting for Hops to open. At 5 we were greeted warmly and seated right away. Our server appeared and offered us a small taste of the beers we were interested in. We both liked the sample and ordered them and out entrees. He got Trout with rice and I got the pork chop with garlic mashed. Everything was delicious so much so he wants to return before we leave town.
