Stopped for lunch this past week after viewing the dam. Place is very casual, with homemade food and friendly service. I had the pastrami and mac salad, which were both very good. Wife had the buffalo sloppy joe and baked beans. Joe was ok (to...much bread) and the beans were good, but came out at about 500 degrees. Would stop again.More

Had the sloppy joe sandwich which is made with ground buffalo and ground beef. It is served with thinly sliced banana peppers and melted cheese on a toasted bun. Very, very good.

We were at this restaurant during the week before closing. The order took a long time to come out, and we were missing an item. Quality was good but not spectacular. I would not go back. They had a for sale sign out front.

We were en route to the Kalispell airport on Sept. 16th, & needed a quick bite to eat on the road. These dear people were kind enough to make me a "Breakfast Burrito" even though it was quite PAST their breakfast time. It was one...of the BEST I've ever eaten! Just PACKED with eggs, hasbrowns, cheese, sausage, & onions - DELISH!More

I loved this place. The people, elk burgers, huckleberry jam and huckleberry chocolate. I'd stop by again. I highly recommend it as a quick family style lunch or dinner or snack. Nothing is over the top except the love of cooking food people want to...eat.More

Quaint, charming, pleasant, clean, efficient. Along the roadside in Hungry Horse (near the fire department and actual hungry horse statue), this little gem features a deli with grill for burgers etc,.Also has a wide assortment of Montana goodies made from huckleberry. Ate there twice on...our visit and enjoyed the meal (a lunch and a dinner) and the environment both times. Really a great place to eat if you’re in Columbia Falls, Hungry Horse or anywhere else nearby.More

So, this is my first negative review on Trip Advisor. I usually just suck it up rather than leave a negative review, but the server was so rude, I can’t let it go without posting. I spoke clearly when ordering, plain ham and cheese, no...mayo, simple enough; my order arrived incorrectly, with mayo, not a big deal, but when I took it back, I was met with very rude indifference, and rather than remake my sandwich, they tried to just scrape off the mayo, leaving plenty of it on the bread, meat and cheese, and then tossed the sandwich onto the table. Not so much as an apology, and certainly not a new sandwich. As with any restaurant in the valley during peak tourist season, prices are high, and to pay that much for a ham and cheese on white and be met with that level of rudeness on their mistake, tossing my sandwich onto the table, it was plain unacceptable. I did not eat the sandwich, I cleaned up the table after my family was done, left the patio with a nasty glare from the server, and decided that the best thing I could do was leave an honest review here. There’s no reason to be rude to people, you made the mistake, I deserved a new sandwich but you were too cheap to make another, and then you were rude on top of it. I’d like to wish you the best of luck, but with service like that, I’m inclined to think that people will go elsewhere in the valley.More

We were staying in Hungry Horse and planned a late afternoon hike followed by Star Party at Logan Pass which meant no way to eat dinner. So we decided to buy a cold sub to eat in between our planned activities. The subs are quite...large so us 2 couples each split a sub combo which is a small bag of chips and a large fountain drink. The fountain drinks we drank on our drive into the park. We did have a cold storage backpack with ice packs to keep our subs cool. Hours later we ate them. My husband and I split an Italian and it was really good, love banana peppers. Our friends split a pan roasted turkey & cheddar and the wife said she will try to recreate it at home. Both couples thought splitting a sub & chips was the best decision, satisfied but not stuffed. I definitely would return. Would have loved to try a hot sandwich. Looked to us like locals frequent here which is always a great sign!More

Really enjoyed our meal there. Great elk burgers, sides, and a shop filled with great relishes, BBQ sauces, candies, and much more. I'm going to see if I can place an order for more sauce. lol I also thought the prices were decent.

local venue with very yummy burgers - kids meals as well. Greeted by an older gentleman on the porch who was eating and said "Welcome to Montana". Great service!
