We had booked a room next door at the Hotel Arvon and since the Celtic Cowboy was so convenient we had drinks and supper there. There is a small outside patio with umbrellas at the tables for shade. We ordered our drinks there but opted...to dine inside away from the noise and exhaust of the traffic, that is what there was of it. There were only a few diners already there so social distancing was not an issue. We seated ourselves along the back wall where we had a pretty good vantage point. There was no music playing but our waitress, Katie, told us we were free to use the internet juke box, which we did not take her up on. For supper I ordered the Irish Reuben sandwich and the hubby selected the Shepherds Pie. The food was plentiful and very good. My sandwich and fries were not greasy, and was loaded with corned beef and a house pickled slaw, which was very good. There was a double wollop serving of mashed potatoes on top of the Shepherds Pie. The service was timely and our meals arrived at the table quickly and hot. This was quite the accomplishment seeing as there were only three employees working due to the pandemic, our waitress, the manager who was doing double time as a waiter and bartender and the cook/dishwasher. We walked away quite satisfied and definitely suggest dining here if you are ever in town.More
Enjoyed a really nice dinner outside tonight, with great live music inside. We had the fish and chips and reuben, both were really good. Attentive service, good starters. Will definitely return, and recommend.
My wife and I stopped here for a small lunch and a beer. The beer was fine (a large selection) and my wife had a nice bowl of Irish stew. I just ordered some onion rings, and they were the worst I have ever tasted....I could barely find any onion with a thick breading. An interesting place, but I just had the bad luck of ordering the wrong item.More

I'm worried about this place. It was recently sold to a new owner and my visit this weekend was pretty sketchy. Everyone seemed confused as to what they should be doing! We were greeted promptly, but waited nearly 15 minutes before someone came to offer...us drinks/food. We watched a few other tables leave before ordering because of the slow service. Our food was actually very good! I love their fish & chips, which are not on the Saturday lunch menu, but they allowed us to order them. Very tasty. As I was eating my lunch I noticed two ladies standing in the entry way, waiting to be seated. They had the patience to stand there for 15 minutes before being greeted, and I had to tell our waitress that they had stood there for a long time.
All said and done, we had a really good lunch. But I easily could have left in a huff if I was not in the mood for slow service. I hope they improve because it's a really nice place!More

Thanks for your patience and the 4 star review! I appreciate very much someone who can separate the good from the "needs work". Truth is, we have had considerable staff turnover in the last few months, and just a couple other challenges, so we have...More
We enjoyed the "irish Breakfast" and the "Farmer's Breakfast". The unique atmosphere charmed us while we ate some truly excellent O'Brien potatoes, Bangers, and other culinary delights. The staff were not only friendly, but knowledgeable and energetic. Great experience and great food.
