We stopped for dinner twice this week with our two teens, once on the way out to Glacier National Park and once on the way back. Both nights we had Susan as our server. She was absolutely wonderful. She was attentive, happy, and friendly. Last night, the restaurant was busy (Friday night), and even though we had to wait a bit longer, Susan would touch base with us frequently making sure we were okay and refilling our drinks as needed. The food was delicious for both of our stops and prices were reasonable. All of the staff members worked together efficiently, helping to run food, bus tables, and clean up after customers. Would highly recommend making a stop for dinner at this place if you are rolling in to town. We will definitely do so next time we are in town.

I had their breakfast when I stayed their hotel (which is connected to each other). One thing I really liked about them is that they were open for 24 hours, which seemed to attract lots of local people & seasonal workers in addition to the hotel guests (10% discount was available for the hotel guests, if I remember correctly). I had to leave very early in the morning, so being able to finish my meal by a little after 6am was awesomely convenient. On top of that, their breakfast was pretty good, with more than satisfying volume that would fill you up well, and the price was so reasonable. After I had their breakfast I regretted not to have dinner with them the night before.
Considering the quantity & quality of their food, their budget-friendly price, and the fact that they're open for 24 hours, I wouldn't even think about going anywhere else if I stayed in the area again.

The location of this motel and restaurant is super as it is just off the interstate (94). Tons of free parking. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. Check-in was easy and quick.
We asked for a room on the ground floor as we had our dog with us and they gave us one very close to the restaurant. The bathroom is a nice size and has good linens.
We ate in in restaurant and our food was very good and reasonably priced. One thing i really like is it is open 24 hours which meant we could get a real early start for the long drive and still have breakfast. YOu can 10% of your breakfast bill if you how you room key

There 14 hungry motorcyclists, myself included, on a ride from Williston, ND for the afternoon. We dropped in unannounced with a crew, and the staff at the Yellowstone River Inn were on their game! The food was excellent. The service was even better. No one's drink went empty nor request got overlooked. Outstanding place!

We looked forward to dinner here as we travelled through.. The dining area is clean and staff were friendly. The beer and house wine selection is good. The food portions are very generous. The salmon was excellent and the side dishes fresh and cooked to perfection - not overdone or soggy veggies. The vegetables and salad were fresh. There were a couple of errors to my partner’s order - server seemed busy. We enjoyed a very leisurely dinner which we appreciated. We’ll be back!

Taco Tuesdays specialty, barbeque night food varies from average to good on Wednesday and Saturdays. Just raised their prices by about 25% beer went from 1800c -2300 c plus service and tax 23%. So it certainly isnt cheap anymore

I was really excited to see prime rib as a special, but when it came, it was hard, and cold. I told the waiter it was not supposed to be like jerky. He took it back and then the young lady talked to the cooks and you could hear them Complaining . I decided not to get something else to eat since I was then worried about what I might get to eat after that. There was another lady sending hers back as well. It was 930 pm but even reheated prime is usually good.
And the place was not clean.

I am sorry about your bad experiance in our restaurant. We strive for every guest to have a great experiance and this was not the case on your visit. This time of year we do put down ice melt on our walkways outside. It appears, from the photo you provided, that was the case on the evening of your visit, hence the ice melt being tracked in from outside. Thanks for the review and we hope you give us another chance on your next visit to Glendive.

I chose the Yellowstone River Restaurant based on good reviews here and an enthusiastic recommendation from the front desk person at my hotel.
I sat the bar but there was none of the typical bartender banter. This staff was hustling too much for that. Multiple times when the bartender got tied up, another woman - presumably the manager or owner - seamlessly dove in to refresh drinks and take orders. I felt welcome and attended to.
The soup of the day was tasty and my steak was cooked just as I ordered it, served with a flavorful shallot compound butter on top.
All in all a good experience, and I will return next time I’m in Glendive.

Remember this food in college being amazing. Stopped in with some friends and wasn’t very impressed. Whoever was cooking the night of Aug. 22nd, please learn to cook a good burger. It was cooked way too hot and for way too long. It doesn’t take that long to cook a burger. Worst burger I’ve ever eaten there.

Stopped in while visiting relatives in the area. Restaurant is attached to a hotel and casino but the dining area is separate from both and completely appropriate for families. Very good service from the server and the gal who was training her. Ordered the Southwest Chicken and highly recommend if you don't mind some spice. (Love it personally.) My niece said the clam chowder was some of the best she has tried. Was much easier to get into on a Friday night than other local establishments but is certainly a hidden treasure. Don't let the unassuming look and decor dissuade you.

I've eaten here a half dozen times for breakfast while passing thru the area on business and enjoyed it every time. Today we came thru on vacation and stopped for breakfast. Still the best taste / best value / best service in town. I had the "Border Combo" and Crystal happily swapped link sausage for Canadian bacon at my request. Kept me full until dinner. Wife had the sausage omelette with home fries and rye toast (mammoth servings) and coffee and also found it excellent. If passing thru again will only consider Yellowstone River Inn for breakfast. Good job!

Eastern Montana prairie town of Glendive does not have many dining options. On an overnight stopover in Glendive locals referred me to the Yellowstone Inn Restaurant on Glendive’s northside on Merrill Avenue north of Interstate 94. The restaurant is not intuitively obvious as to where it is located. Look for the Yellowstone Inn on the street’s west side. The restaurant is attached on the south side of the Inn.
The unpretentious Inn set back on an unpaved parking lot, doesn’t appear all that inviting. Plus finding the door to the restaurant was a bit awkward, but I found it. The restaurant is sandwiched between the Inn and an attached bar and casino. Once inside the restaurant a welcoming sign said, “seat yourself,” which I did. The sign also had the nightly special. The clean and comfortable restaurant does seem to attract. It was busy on a Sunday early evening. I had to be a bit assertive to get the attention of the waitress, but I finally ordered from a menu having many options.
I received an excellent prepared dinner with the meat serving to my instructions and liking. Presentation excellent. Hot and well-seasoned. Nothing amiss with the dinner. Final bill for a dinner meal, $21.
But again, I had to be assertive to get the waitress’ attention for the bill. It finally came and I left cash on the table rather than waiting for her to return for my credit card.
The Yellowstone Inn Restaurant is well-worth the time spent to find it but be patient with the staff.

My wife and I were on the road and hungry for lunch. So we decided to stop here. It was almost 11:30, but were told we couldn't order lunch until noon. Really, for 30 minutes? We weren't going to sit there and wait for half an hour, so we had to settle for breakfast. It was horrible. Worst breakfast of a 1 month road trip. First, the coffee was so weak it tasted like tea. And the cheese wasn't even melted in the omelet. It was just clumps of coagulation. Besides that, the nice glass of cold milk I ordered was tepid at best. And the waitress, despite the place having only a couple of customers and multiple waitresses, went missing once she delivered the food. She never came back to see how the food was or to offer a coffee refill. So we decided to just eat and drink what we could, pay the check, and get far away from that place. Unfortunately, even then, we had to go search out our waitress just to even get a check to pay. And then to make matters worse, we had to practically tackle her just to get her to even take the payment. You only get one chance to make a first impression. And we'll never be back.

Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. I am sorry it was not up to par during your visit. Sunday we serve breakfast until noon in order to accommodate most of our customers, unfortunately it leaves those seeking lunch a bit disgruntled. The day of your visit was extremely busy, including parties in both of our banquet rooms and we were running short staffed... we are accepting applications.

We always look forward to eating here when staying in Glendive. The restaurant has no atmosphere and we've never eaten in it, but the adjacent bar has good food (we usually split a Caesar salad and mushroom and onion burger), a good choice of beers on tap, wine or cocktails, and friendly service. And there are several tv's to watch sports.

We were staying at la Quinta Glendive Mt, and hotel staff were recommend us this restaurant like they were recommending others.
In this town don't have much choice to eat but YRI is one of the best restaurant in the town. Good food , friendly staff , if we come this way again , we will definitely stop here to eat.
