It was so good for lunch we came back for supper the next day. The brisket and pulled pork were excellent. The beans and cheesy corn were great sides. Unfortunately, the ribs come off the grill at 5 and often sell out by 6, so we missed trying them before we headed back to MN. But what we got was every bit as good as the best BBQ places in Minneapolis.

We enjoyed a delicious Pulled pork BBQ sandwich from here on a Sunday afternoon. At the time of our visit they were doing take out only due to COVID-19, so we ate by the church next door on a bench. The service was friendly and fast.

This is one of the few seasonal BBQ operations in the country, but it was certainly hopping on the Saturday when we visited at lunchtime. Scanning license plates in the parking lot suggests that it is equally popular with locals and tourists. Everything that we sampled was top-notch. $20 purchased a half pound of fatty brisket, and 6 ounce sides of burnt end baked beans and collard greens. The sides here are all house made, and the meat locally sourced. We judged the brisket to be the best that we have eaten in Montana-- high end meat that, on this particular day, was beautifully smoked over apricot wood (a first in our now 30 state odyssey). The rub was traditional central Texas, and it generated fabulous bark. Can't go wrong with the brisket here, and the sides definitely hold their own.

$33.00. Two sandwiches and a pint of beans. Meat was tasty but boring with nothing but squirted on sauce from the self serve counter. Buns were buttered and toasted. Beans were with “burnt ends” but maybe one piece of end. They did have some onion chunks. Nothing is served with the sandwiches. The part I am getting to really dislike is when the girl who took the walk up counter order (and whom I spent 15 seconds with) spins the pad for my signature and the loaded tip amounts are 20% and up. I worked in the service industry and am all for tips but not those amounts. I left a 10% tip for the few seconds we spent together. $3.00. Check on that BBQ joint.

We recently spent a week in Emigrant as a base for visiting Yellowstone and Southern Montana. At the time we visited, it was open Thursday through Sunday. We tried it on the Saturday we arrived (brisket, pulled pork, beans and slaw) and it was so good we went back on Sunday (ribs, and more beans and slaw). They have a nice selection of BBQ sauces too. Highly recommended!

Our family of four is from the Kansas City area, where BBQ is king. We were very happy with the food at Follow Yer Nose and ate there twice. Honestly, we usually don't eat bbq on vacation, but after reading the reviews and the close proximity of this place to our cabin in Emigrant, we agree that people are right about coming here.

This BBQ spot has so many delicious choices...brisket, pulled pork, ribs...everything we tried was tender, flavorful and smoked to perfection. The sauce choices are also great! Friendly staff with a nice selection of tap beers from local breweries. Great outdoor seating with a view of Emigrant peak. Perfect for a spring/summer/fall lunch or dinner.

Found this little gem near our AirBnB in Paradise Valley. Saw the ratings and had to give it a go. It is extremely casual, overly friendly and if the BBQ smell doesn’t entice you as you get out of your car, you should just go home. We were warmly greeted by a sweet “ginger” who welcomed us and took our order. She made recommendations to food and drink and we received our food in about 15 mins. We ordered coleslaw on both sandwiches and they missed one. So they made it right. No big deal. They forgot our ice tea; went back to get it-no big deal. Food was excellent. So good I went back up and got another sandwich. We had the pork, brisket and sausage sandwiches (3). Loved it all. My nice girl brought me a cooking to make unnecessary mends for the tiny hiccups on our order. They care that much about getting it right. My suggestion? Stop even if you are not hungry. Between the food, craft beers and iced tea…can’t go wrong!

I had the pulled pork sandwich and my husband had the brisket sandwich and both were good. The pasta salad side dish was also good. I did get a oatmeal cookie that I ended up throwing out because it was rock hard and tasted like there was no butter or sugar used. The place had a great view of the mountains and staff seemed friendly.

After being in town for a few days, I can say this place has the best food in the area. We ordered the brisket, pulled pork, bbq beans, and coleslaw. The food was hot, perfectly prepared, and good tasting. It was a bit pricey, but we are realizing that food in this area is going to be higher than normal. We would definitely return!

This was our go to place for amazing food during our recent stay near Emigrant. My son and I both agreed that this was the BEST BBQ we’ve ever had! Meats come off the smoker at 5:00 pm and are sold until gone. We tried the brisket, pork, sliced turkey, burnt ends and half chicken. I’m still dreaming of that smoked turkey! We were lucky to get burnt ends as we purchased the last 1/2# at 5:50 pm (apparently they go FAST when on the menu). The burnt end baked beans- WOW! We opted for eating all of the meats “as is” - fresh off the smoker with no BBQ sauce added. A definite MUST try if in the area. YUM!

We visited with friends on a warm Sunday in August and had a wonderful meal with ice cold beer. My wife had pulled pork and I ordered brisket. Sides of baked beans, slaw and pasta salad. Local beer topped off the lunch. A little pricey but worth it.

At at the Gardiner location. Phenomenal brisket sandwich! Almost went back for another! Pulled pork was a little dry, but it is a huge serving. And the turkey sandwich was excellent as well. This place had been recommended by a few people so we had to go, glad we did. Can’t wait to try the emigrant location next!

We stayed at the nice, clean cabins next door. We were very surprised to find such a great restaurant a short walk away. There were six of us and we tried a little of almost all the meats on the menu. They were all fantastic. Very friendly staff.

Ate here twice. The buns are a chibatta bread and are wonderful. Serving size is good. Day 1 @ Gardiner Brisket sandwich was good. Portobello sandwich with pimento cheese was delicious. Day 2 @ Emigrant Brisket had a LOT of fat. Ruined it. Had to pull fat off. Pulled pork sandwich was tasteless. Kinda dry but problem was it just had no flavor at all. Definitely recommend the portobella sandwich. Brisket hit or miss. Avoid the pig.
