You may order ONE PRAWN as a side! Amazingly good and about the size of a small lobster tail! Ribs are good, service is friendly and efficient. Make a reservation if you can because this ordinary looking small town bar is DELISH and busy!
Have eaten here twice; both times beef (ask for the special) was fork tender and excellent. Generous servings of everything (which applies to the drinks from a well-stocked bar without the cheap stuff). Steamed clams (yes, in Montana) were superb. And a homemade cranberry-orange pie...with incredibly flaky crust topped off a great dinner. Home made soups and variable vegetables (like sugar snap peas). A wonderful dining experience. Reservations are a must, particularly with Covid-19.More
We visited the Edgar bar with my sister & her husband while working in Red Lodge.
We had a reservation & they seated us immediately. We enjoyed the extremely large delicious prawns & the walleye was out of this world! So fresh & perfectly fried....We opted for the sweet potato on the side & it was huge & delicious. You must have the cinnamon sugar butter. Our waitress was excellent and we did not have to wait for anything. I will be back!
Thank you for a wonderful experience!More
We travel a lot and heard about Edgar Bar. Ok so. First. The service was amazing due to a young man named Conner. The food. Above and beyond. Excellent. The shrimp are bigger than mist steaks. Beware. My husband and I ordered the 12 oz...steaks and 2 shrimps each. I only ate half my steak and one shrimp. Wow. Just unbelievable. But besides the food our waiter made our visit the bestMore
We made it in for an early New Year's Eve dinner and it was just what we all needed. The service was attentive and amazing and my only slight problem with it is I felt we were slightly rushed due to all the other reservations...they had the same night. The food was really great. The appetizer came out fresh and fast. The steaks were great and the price was what I would expect since it seems prices have recently gone up. I'm not a prime rib fan, but I tasted it when someone with us ordered it and it was the most flavorful prime I have tasted. As I looked around, I noticed several others ordered it as well. The shrimp was also fresh and flavorful. The dessert choices were really pretty basic and nothing that caught our attention.More
We were working in the area and there’s not much else in the area. The locals working with us highly recommended this place. Our party of seven was quickly seated and our server was friendly and helpful. Lots of variety of sandwiches, burgers, fish &...chips. I had the walleye fish and chips. The fish was battered just right, fresh and tasty. Overall very good meal.More
We always have the best experience, the best service, and the best steak and shrimp ever! We've also stopped for lunch a few times and it was superb. Don't let the small space scare you. They'll get you in and out.
From the first time we came to the area everyone said "you must eat at the Edgar Bar". We went again recently and just loved it. It's a bit like walking into a social club, the atmosphere and friendliness is a warm embrace and the...food is to die for. In fact, we sometimes play this macabre game where you have to choose all the elements of your final meal, if you were to be executed the next day. My main course would be a steak at the Edgar Bar.
It's a bit out in the sticks but if you get within 100 miles of Edgar - GO THERE.More
My husband and I decided to make a trip out to Edgar for our anniversary. Thankfully we got there early because without a dinner reservation, you are sent packing. We watched several parties get turned away while many tables sat empty. The Edgar bar is...no longer a nice place for locals to visit. It was obvious that night that they are catering to extremely snooty people coming from out of town. The food was excellent but the rest of the experience was a pretty big disappointment.More
