We were looking for a local place to stop and get a quick bite along our road trip. This was perfect. The line takes a little bit (probably 20 minutes from start to finish for us), but it was worth it. We ordered using the order boxes that line the drive in. The line of cars backed into the street... I would never waste any time rating a fast food restaurant. Don't be fooled by the lack of formality with this place. It's what burger drive ins used to be before the industrialization of food began. They have one location and one location only. Great food, not terribly fast (because they're really cooking your order after you order), great price...well... More

This is a drive in with a small parking spot. Hard to get to on some days as they get very busy and the line backs up way down the street. The meals are very good and they give a lot of fries when you order the fries. The shakes taste fine. They offer a lot more then burgers.

I lived in Montana for years and just found out about this gem of a drive in a few years ago. Now we go here several times while visiting from Phoenix. The fries are made fresh from potatoes and cooked to perfection. Compliment these with a flying Berger and your favorite drink and you'll enter drive in heaven! You can... More

I am going to have to part ways with a lot of the reviewers on here and just give Kings Hat an "Average". I had been there in the past and thought it was really good but it didn't really jump out at me the last time. It's not bad by any means, just not great. It may be that... More

This is a drive up only. There are some picnic tables and a shelter which will accomodate a few vehicles. Fast service, good food, low prices. If it is a busy time, approach form the east as 'stacking' will go out onto the street.

I was running errands and needed a quick bite. Stopped and get a flying burger (you need to try one to understand) and some breaded mushrooms. It was a great quick meal and the crew there is super friendly. This place reminds me going to drive ins when I was a kid in rural Minnesota. Hope it stays around forever.

My brother has described Kings Hat as "the best, worst food in Billings", I have to agree. This is some awesome junk food! Much better than I had expected, and it took my Aunt and Dad straight back to their childhood! It would have given 5 stars, but they left out our order of Onion Rings ( I do wish... More

On those days when you're craving nothing but a great Old school burger, this place is tops in Billings. It's been there forever and the quality has never changed. Got to get the double cheese, root beer cooler and a side of breaded mushrooms with ranch dressing. Way cheaper than the fast food joints and the quality is way superior... More
