(Starting off by saying we did not stay in the hotel - we only did the dinner sleigh ride) My boyfriend and I wanted to break away from our friends for an evening. We were told that Lone Mountain did Sleigh Ride Dinners but had no idea what to expect. Luckily we were able to get a reservation the day... More

They dont advertise it very well, but one of the specialty drinks is made with house infused habeñero tequila. I've ordered variations of these and other margaritas in dozens of places and this one was by far the most delicious. Its definitely spicy, but if you are into tequila I highly recommend. Food was pretty good also. I agree with... More

For many years my husband and I sometimes with friends or family have eaten at the Lone Mountain Ranch restaurant and had drinks in their cozy bar and during the summer months on their verandah. We love the atmosphere and views overlooking the cabins and horse coral. The service is always first class and friendly. Recently we met ski friends... More

My sister in-law and I tried to do a bit of cross country skiing in the morning, and decided to eat lunch here before going to our scheduled massages. The lunch was served buffet stye, and had some very great fresh options. There were four large tureen's of soup, all were very unique. I tried the cucumber & chicken soup,... More

I had a group of 17. The dining experience was the best of the trip. The food choices were great. The quality was as good as anything I have eaten anywhere. They served the group with several waiters. The room was fantastic. This was our top meal for the 4 nights. I have only extremely positive things to say about... More

Sorry but the dinner chef just doesn't seem to hit the mark time after time. Sauces are dark, heavy, terrible. Just not up to par.

I really want to like Lone Mountain Ranch's dining room. While shabby and desparately in need of upgrading, the location of the bar and restaurant could be a definite plus for the casual visitor or the dedicated local, if the place would get brought into the 2000's (even better the 2000+ teens, but hey don't ask for so much). But... More

Excellent service by the very friendly bartender and waitress. The manager was perturbed about seating us early even though the dining room was half full. They seemed very concerned about spacing out the orders for the kitchen, which I understand to a point. Our appetizers were excellent: special salad and chicken pate. My ribeye was good but a little over... More

We had a great waitress from Georgia with a fun German accent. The food was well crafted with heart and enough culinary adventure to keep one guessing. Bison short ribs were applauded. Soups were really good. The setting is typical Montana but quite airy. For a more gourmet experience with downhome sensibilities, this is the place to go in Big... More

VERY disappointed. Brought 16 ski club members to restaurant. Very small portions for big price. Mediocre flavor, lousy presentation, no creativity. I am a vegetarian, ordered cauliflower steak and I literally got a slab of cauliflower roasted. Both my husband and I returned home only to dig in refrigerator for a meal. Would never go to this restaurant again!
