My partner and I had lunch here today. His Caesar salad was nicely presented and a good amount of chicken and bacon on it. I had a bacon and Brie baguette, which was ok, but like many other pubs, frozen bread quick baked in the oven which never works. The inside becomes non existent and the crust becomes teeth breaking... More

A lovely place to stay in the middle of the countryside with good food on the doorstep. The pub/restaurant has had rooms available for over a year now and they provide a lovely roomy space to return to after a day exploring Norfolk. There is a courtyard available just for guests or the flowery pub garden. We have enjoyed good food... More

The pub area is nice enough but I did not like the restaurant area which has recently been added. It is an extension with lovely large windows but it needs the touch of a professional decorator. It looks like a canteen, no atmosphere. If you are allergic to cats be aware a cat was wandering between the tables during our... More

Fairly Good food but on the cusp of being a little too expensive. if you pay £22 for a steak i think its a bit much to pay additional for pepper/ mushroom sauce. This put me off so i opted for a lamb shank which was very good. Sadly it only came with two baby carrots and three halves of... More

I visited here with some family and caught up with some relatives who live near Wreningham while we were staying in Bury. After a short delay waiting in the bar we were shown to our table in the victorian dining rooms and seated. This is a lovely space - tables well spaced and a great atmosphere. Not too noisy either... SORRY TO WRITE SUCH A. SHORT REVIEW. 2nd visit with the Family, just for drinks. Wonderful place to be, IF YOU ARE NOT DRINKING MORE THAN ONE! Great Surroundings, Menu looks Good BUT,,,,, After spending £24 on drinks, 3 of which were soft drinks, I decided NOT to eat here so we took our custom elsewhere! Holidaymakers are NOT there... I've been to England three times and have stayed at four different places. This is the only one I will seek to stay at next time I go, which will hopefully be next year. It is beautiful, the food is fantastic (I had breakfasts and evening meal), the staff (and owners) are friendly, personable and really care about their guests.... More

Description
We are a family run restaurant and free house in the heart of the Norfolk countryside, yet only fifteen minutes from the city of Norwich.

The ingredients for our menus are sourced locally wherever possible, we grow our own herbs, and our free range eggs are from a local farm, and we buy our fish fresh direct from Lowestoft.

Whether you are looking for a delicious traditional steak and ale pie, beer battered fish and chips (large!!) A sizzling skillet of Duck Breast with oriental vegetables and Hoisin sauce, or indeed something a little different from our evening special selection, we know you will be spoilt for choice with our extensive menu.
We also have some delicious vegetarian options to tempt you.
Oh, and try to leave room for one of Tristan's legendary desserts!

Our recently opened eight en suite luxury Guest rooms are available now at a charge of £80 per room and our delicious breakfast just £8.95.

During the warmer months, we look forward to offering outside dining, either in our gardens or on our sunny terrace, and we can now cater for larger parties, wedding receptions and celebratory functions.

We would love to welcome you to The Bird in Hand, do please come and visit us soon!
