My family and I were in town for a competition and we searched on the web the best place to get a burger in Springfield. Casper's came up, we thought we would try it. When we drove up we were little leery but when we walked in we were welcomed with a smiling face Great customer service and the burgers... More

Long standing Springfield tradition. New owners but same flavor and flair. You'll see everyone from lawyers to mechanics and everyone else. Chili is what they are known for - but the burgers are great and the Frito Pie is a must.

Casper's Chili Parlor has been serving chili and burgers since 1909. It's a legend in Springfield. The restaurant is currently located just west of downtown on Walnut St, in an old WWII Quonset hut. There are 3 tables, 3 booths, and a long lunch counter - so expect a wait at lunchtime! If it's your first time, you MUST have... More

Love the Frito Pie and the Chili. Go early as it gets packed during the lunch hour. Sit at the bar and enjoy a conversation with the people who run the place!

We are moving away from Springfield do we are going to restaurants we haven't tried in all these years. We had lunch, at the counter because it was full, and it was great. I thought the cheeseburger had a hint of cinnamon. Maybe the sauce? It was yummy. Couldn't eat it all along with a true basket of fries. We... More

Okay let's get some things straight here, Caspers is a very very long running business in Springfield. If someone tells you that they have the best chili around who are they to say that. Every persons taste's are different. Caspers chili is simple and straight forward. In case you did not notice the tables are loaded with condiments, you can... More

The place is small, in a quonset hut. The burgers are thin and crispy and so tasty. The chili has an unusual note, and not spicy. Service was very friendly. Don't miss it if you are driving through.

One of our favorites every time we visit Springfield. Great service; actually, beyond great service. I wish everyone was as happy and as energetic as our last server there. Chili and ham sandwich are awesome. What a place with a ton of history! Don't change a thing!
