Good dinner before the play

In town to see Wicked and hotel recommended this place for pre-play dinner. It was fabulous. We liked everything we tried and they took reservations. Would definitely return.

My husband, a Belgian friend, and I braved a torrential downpour to try this little jewel in downtown Springfield. We had pizza and carbonara pasta with a generous amount of homemade bread topped off by homemade tiramasu. All of us have traveled extensively throughout Italy, never missing a meal or dessert and yet I've never had quite the same quality... More

Bruno's is always amazing. We live downtown and having a gem like this so close is wonderful. The Linguine Con Vongole (Linguine with fresh clams, white wine, garlic, parsley, tomato fillets, olive oil, touch of chilly) is by far the BEST I have ever had. I order and extra or double portion of the little neck clams, they are imply... More

We chose Bruno's to bring family from out of town and they didn't disappoint. The carpaccio and arugula salad it a must try and is big enough for 2-3 people to share. The spinach and ricotta gnocchi has a sage butter sauce and is so flavorful. I tried something new this time and got the Gamberoni which is shrimp sautéed... More

Delicious food from appetizer to desert! Bruno is from Sicily and has brought his heritage of delicious recipes to Springfield. The atmosphere is a wonderful replica of the restaurants we have been to in Italy. His Involtini Di Capellini is my husband's favorite Bruno's red sauce is the best we have had. The entrees are all delicious one of my... More

We had a wonderful lunch here today. The waiter was so good; he made us feel welcome and explained all the food choices. We had the Chicken and Nutty Orzo Herb Salad and an oerder of Garlic Bread. We also had a very nice Italian Pino Grigio. The restaurant is beautiful inside with wood floors and cherry tables and chairs.... More

Some friends and I had dinner here and the food and service was really good. My linguine diavola was excellent with jumbo shrimp, the other three were complimentary of their meals. One of my friends and I went back for lunch during the week and the food was not as good. I had a panino sausage which was average, her... More

I have been to Bruno's on three separate occasions. I have tried several items on the menu. All were disappointing. They were flavorless, boring, and not even visually appealing. Furthermore, I've had the same server each time and didn't like him. He tries to presume what you want to order and treats you like he knows better than you do.... More

I expected a more exciting menu. Perhaps it's just that I am from a big city and Italian restaurants there are more so bold and competitive. They also make their own pasta. That was not the case here when I asked about the ravoli with shrimp and lobster, although I was told it was good. Nice server. I think the... More

The ambiance and the service are terrific and the food is great. The only slight drawback is the price. But, I suppose, you're paying for a slightly more upscale experience than the average restaurant. Great place for special occasions.
