I've been coming here for years but the last few times were even better. They've upped their game. I don't know how they did it but my favorites are more incredibly delicious than they were before. Excellent!!!

I ordered the carne asada burrito. It was delicious and authentic. I have eaten here many times and really like the food. Large portions!
I'll start with NO CHEESE! How on God's Green earth do you even attempt to serve a burrito or taco with NO CHEESE!? I ordered the House burrito, it was large in portion but absolutely NO CHEESE! I ordered the special of the day 5...for $5, It came with unseasoned chicken meat, cilantro, and onions on top in an uncooked shell...NO CHEESE! After I paid an additional $5 for queso, I ate part of the burrito and it was really good. I opted for water which tasted like they needed to clean the machine out or their tap water was linked to the bathroom faucet. My other party member ordered the special of the day, 5 for $5 which was 4 tacos and a refillable medium drink. The shells the "taco" meat was in weren't cooked, there was no seasoning on the beef, it was topped with cilantro, onions, and again NO CHEESE! After waiting a good 20 minutes for the food, these items were delicately placed on bargain basement paper plates. You know the ones where you cannot have anything wet on them or they'll have a hole before you're finished eating? Yeah, those. What ever juice the cilantro and onion mix was in seeped through those plates. I don't care if you put Cali & Mexi in the same name, that was NOT Mexican food. I don't know how it was supposedly rated #1 unless that was back when you actually served CHEESE but this place is a dump. The bathroom had poor circulation accommodated with Lovely floral scented feces and it looked like something I'd stumble into after a hard night of drinking in an alley. I felt more dirty walking in there to wash my hands than I did touching the entry door to the establishment. Absolutely awful experience. The health department might want to take a look at this one. Again, NO CHEESE!More
This place was a joke. Didn’t get my order right and then argued with me and told me what I ordered. Trash can was overflowing. The salsa bar was over half empty. While going back to the filthy restroom to wash I noticed the kitchen...looked unkept with a half eaten plate in the kitchen.More
We chose the purple burrito, close to the Wonders of Wildlife assuming it was the local version of a chipoltle or qdoba. We should have known when we got there, someone came in behind us. We offered to let him go in front of our...group of 9 and he said... I'm probably not going to stay it looks like a slow day. We ordered our food. It looked like there was 1 cashier and 2 people cooking. It took us a good 30-40 minutes to receive our order of the taco special. It was good food, but crazy slow. I would not return.More
I felt like I was in Mexico. The tacos were amazing - especially the fish taco special. Las salsas eran magnificas. Great portions. Definitely felt full when we left.
Love this place. Reminds me of home (Arizona ) Mexican food! Highly recommend the California burrito. Very cheap to feed a family ! Not a fancy atmosphere. But wonderful food. Highly recommend!!
If you like authentic food, I encourage you to try the purple burrito. The flavors are bold and delicious.
Newly opened in Ozark. Small seating area. Clean. Prices are high in comparison to other local Mexician eating places. They charge extra for everything. Self service . Very noisy when full.
I <3 LOVE <3 this place! Delish!!! This location is my fave! The ONLY place to get Mexican Food in Springfield! YUM!
3 lbs burritos wow delicious Lots of cleaning needed. Interested buffalo board tables. Friendly staff
We stopped for gas just off the interstate and we're hungry and was just going to grab some fast food but having driven for several hours we wanted to sit down and came across this little gem. The staff was amazing and the food was...even better! The value for your money is not in question here and might I add the steak burrito was more than my wife and I could share so when we stopped for the night we shared her chicken burrito. Great little gem stop in and give them a try!More
The staff is super friendly, which is always a plus for me. I usually go with the original Purple Burrito. They are delicious!! You will definitely leave with a full belly. Well worth the money.
Apparently they have started using the cheap white cheese in their food. I always order the chicken quesadilla with a side of beans. The beans used to be wonderful but now are blah at best and the quesadilla was very disappointing this go round. I...cannot stand the white cheese taste so imagine my surprise from several months ago to now. I used to really enjoy this place as a reminder of home (San Diego). Not anymore. On the plus side, you get plenty and they are always very friendly.More
A friend of mine from California told me about the Purple Burrito and how it reminded her of the Mom and Pop Mexican restaurants back home. We've been there twice now and will return when we're in town. As others have posted-this is a self...service eatery. You order at the counter and they will call for you when it's done. If you're looking for "service" don't bother but if you're looking for great, homemade Mexican food this is the place to come! The fish tacos, Carnitas plate, Carne Asada are amazing! The meat is tender and perfectly spiced. All ingredients are fresh and they have a variety of salsas for every palate. The restaurant is decorated simply and clean. You really cannot beat their prices-you'd spend more at a local fast food eatery . We look forward to sampling more of their menu!More
