Went late on a Sunday night, decided we would give it a try because we have yet found a "Great" chinese restaraunt in the St.Louis area! Red Door was better than many places we have tried but still now "Wow" factor that said we will...crave it and remember it to want to go back. Don't get me was not bad and if I lived here and worked downtown I would go there. Crab rangoon was very good,my husband really liked the flavor of his Kun-pow Chicken but there was very very little chicken! He left a compleetly full plate of mostly celery! He did like the wonton soup! I had sweet and sour Shrimp, really liked the batter they use on the shrimp and they give you.lots of them but they are small shrimp, 90% of all chinese restaraunts I have been in across the United states serve large or jumbo shrimp in all thier dishes during evening dinner hour! It was good but would have been much better with a lit less sweet and sour sauce! The restaraunt is large and clean and has a bar and a stage that make this unique. Waitress spoke little English so you know its authentic! Give it a shot, they even have a lunch buffet (kinda wish I would have tried that first)More

I order through GrubHub (never actually been to the restaurant) and have tried Red Door Chinese Eatery twice (before today). Their food is good and delivery was quick. I've had the Cashew Chicken and Empress Chicken which were both very good. I agree with a...previous review which requested that they give more of a description of their dishes and what it comes with, but overall, I keep coming back and haven't been disappointed.More

Went there for lunch and was virtually only person there. Nice aesthetics overall but hated the wobbly tables. Lunch buffet looked very old and tired and boring. So went fir dumplings and soup off the menu. Hot and sour soup was very average. Pork and...cabbage dumplings were good and the potstickers were quite good. Nothing else on the menu looked interesting. Service was inconsistent in terms of attention.More

They have a buffet. We ordered off the menu. Didn’t like the wonton soup. Noodles were hard and not normal. Rest of our meals were typical Chinese fare. Our service was good.

We loved this restaurant! We ordered twice from our hotel and the food was delivered hot and delicious in the exact amount of time that we were promised. The vegetable dishes were excellent, the Rangoon and egg rolls were also. Highly recommend!

We arrived at about 2 pm on a Saturday after passing by this place numerous times and being huge fans of good dumplings we had to stop in. Well.... they had a buffet and it was pretty picked over. Literally nothing left of a couple...of dishes, the fried rice was old and hard and we ordered dumplings to go with the buffet. The dumplings arrived about 5 minutes after we were done eating the buffet, I thought the one waitress working had forgot about them. We had the chicken and cabbage. I found them to be average, the wife did not like them at all. Overall it was a bit of a disappointment but maybe it was a slow Saturday and we caught them at a bad time....More

I ordered delivery from this restaurant. The online ordering from the website is easy but the restaurant really needs to add descriptions of the food so that people can know what they are ordering. They have a few items that I had not seen before...(and I’ve eaten at a lot of Chinese restaurants) such as pineapple rangoon and apple fried rice, and it would have been nice to know exactly what was in them. I ordered the scallion pancake and Hun Young tofu with white rice and iced tea. The scallion pancake was a little oily but had a good flavor. The tofu dish was deep fried tofu with a mild brown sauce. There were a few veggies in there–I wish there had been just a little less tofu and a little more veggies. All in all though this is pretty good American Chinese food. I was grateful for the delivery and I liked how fast the service was. Recommended for typical Chinese take out. Solid meal.More

During a recent conference in St. Louis, we decided to stay in our final night and order some take out. A friend of mine wanted some fried rice so we asked our hotel concierge what he'd recommend. He highly recommended the Red Door Chinese Eatery....The person taking our order was very patient with us especially since my friend changed her order 3 times while I was on the phone. He said the food would be delivered in 45 minutes and it was more like 30. Over all the food was good. We live in a smaller city in South Dakota so we don't have a lot of good Chinese restaurants. I lived in Seattle and nothing is going to compare to some of the authentic restaurants there. However, over all I did enjoy the food and so did my friends. I ordered the Lemon chicken with rice and crab rangoon. (which I shared with one of my friends.) It was a lot of food and not bad for the price. One of my friends said her sweet and sour chicken was too sweet but over all not too bad.If we are ever back in St. Louis we'll try this place again.More

I eat here often. This is a medium sized facility in downtown. Most of the time the customers are Chinese and a mix of locals. Parking is a little tough but this is walkable from most places in downtown. They also deliver and have other...delivery devices online. I recommend the shrimp egg foo yong with the gravy on the side. It's worth a try!More

We placed a take-out order recently. Service was good and very friendly. Food was good, but not great. Will keep looking for a better option.

The food is pretty good for Americanized Chinese ... I'm not so keen on the service they offer. They aren't in any hurry to take or fill your order. Rock On !!!

I've been in several times. It's in the neighborhood and I wanted Chinese and want to be able to get it near the house. Big fan of egg drop soup and it's just missing something. They don't really get in a hurry on to-go orders....I will continue to try at different times maybe it will improve.More
