Great Experience: My wife and I came here to have dinner for our anniversary. Very welcoming staff, and the ambiance was great. We orders Prawns for the appetizer, the filet, and scallops with pork belly for the main entree, and chocolate fudge cake and tiramisu...for desert. Everything was excellent. The waiter was attentive. We will certainly be back.More

The first time that I ate at Charlie Gittos was on a business trip. It was the night of Game 6 of the 2011 world series. The food was perfectly cooked seasoned, and authentic. I've often spoken of Gittos to my wife. Today, we both...came to St. Louis. Gittos was my top priority. Even after 3,314 days of anticipation, the food did not disappoint. The staff takes great pride in their restaurant and community. Ask the manager to tell you about the history of the Charlie Gittos.More

Visiting St. Louis everyone said we needed to have dinner somewhere on The Hill, it didn’t matter where since they were all great. We chose Charlie Gitto’s because they had a patio, and are more than happy we did. The patio is beautiful and has...good heaters for these fall nights. We enjoyed the Arancini appetizer which featured some pesto sauce which my wife loves. We didn’t see any pasta dishes with pesto on the menu, so we asked our waiter if they did. He said they did not, but could ask the chef if he could accommodate us. The chef was happy to do so and recommended a cream pesto over fettuccini...which was perfect. I chose the lemon chicken over angel hair pasta...very light, but filling. After enjoying our entrees we went for the tiramisu, which was the perfect ending to the evening. The atmosphere was wonderful, the service was great, the food was delicious, and it was a perfect evening.More

Great dinner, reserved a great table and the venue has great COVID measures. Our server Tim was very knowledgeable and described the specials so well we had the snapper and scollops. Both were great. Great meal and great service

Food is super. Service is professional. This is a different review. We were seated on the patio and there was a woman with mobility problems who came through the gate. She was meeting others and had a reservation. She sat down at the wrong table....The maitre d' attended to her with such KINDNESS, and got her seated at the right table. These days....so nice to see. Phenomenal caprese—they grow their own tomatoes. Which means it’s seasonal only. Great selection of wines, especially Italian. Exceptional service. Try the cannolis.

Great food and great service. Very accommodating with a great atmosphere. I read that the spaghetti bolognese was weak - not true. Very tasty. Worth a visit!

Be weary of their “specials.” Lesson learned on ordering those without asking price. Got slapped with $35 each on 2 different specials. 1st $35 dish was snapper with the 3 smallest “raviolis” I’ve ever seen in my life. And the 2nd $35 dish was 3...scallops on a small scoop of risotto. Food was subpar and prices were ridiculous. I suggest either sticking to the menu or going Mamas in the Hill or Zia’s. Also, not sure what the waiter’s problem was, but he acted like my boyfriend was crazy for asking for oil and pepper for his bread and seemed peeved that we didn’t order alcoholic drinks. All around a terrible experience. I love the hill, but will never go to Charlie Gitto’s again...More

This was our first time here and it did not disappoint! We had heard great things about Charlie Gitto’s and we were excited to check it out. Service was great - our server was so friendly and gave great recommendations! She was fabulous! The food...was AMAZING and the portions were plentiful! Regardless of what you order you must try the toasted ravioli - the BEST ever!!!More

We picked this restaurant based on the menu (they had veal) and it was open on the 4th. We were seated outside, which was preferable during the pandemic. The service was excellent. The veal was cooked perfectly, not too much so it becomes tough and...chewy. They were willing to adjust the offering to substitute mushrooms for crab. Side dishes were great. Prices were what I expected. Also, had a great chocolate martini for dessert.More

Most dishes are in the $20-30 range. A decent bottle of wine is about $30. Regardless, as a 2nd generation Italian, it is well worth the money!
