We went due to ratings but the food was so so. I'm from Texas and my husband from St. Louis and we wanted short ribs. Wasn't that great or what I expected.

Arrived around 5 on a Sat to get carryout. Quaint little family operation. Service was fast and owner Carl, very well versed in Q. So we ordered Super rib tips which were juicy, hot and tasty. We also got brisket, sadly it tasted like it had sat in aluminum and at the bottom of the tray b/c it seemed like... More

I was visiting my parents who live about 2 hours North of St. Louis and decided to head down to try the BBQ in the city. I was in town for only a day so as you can imagine my stomach could handle only so much BBQ. I went to Bogart's, Pappy's and Roper's I got a half slab at... More

I'm a native Texan who knows good barbecue, and in the last year I've tried many of the most highly-recommended places in St. Louis. My hands-down favorite is Roper's Ribs, a family-owned, no-frills place with friendly people and great food. It's a small place at the corner of an intersection (park in the empty lot on Jennings Station behind the... More

Award-winning BBQ, especially the beef ribs. However, don't expect to bring a large group as they have only eleven seats. Call your order in ahead of coming and pick up some of the best ribs you'll ever eat.

Texas girl here who wasn't happy in St. Louis until I found Roper's Ribs. The St. Louis ribs and rib tips are really the best ever. The new dry rub is my favorite. In addition to the tender, juicy, delicious BBQ, the jumbo fried shrimp is seriously cooked to perfection. The service is great. The Ropers are so sweet and... More
