Crown Candy located just 5 minutes north of downtown is like going back in time. Small diner ice cream shop that looks the way it did probably 50+ years ago. They make homemade chocalate. Have a Bacon Lettuce Tomatoe sandwich that is 6 inches tall. I had Chilli Mac that was OK. Malt was very good. Prices are ok. Get... More

I would never go here at night, but we love it for lunch. The seating is limited and there's often a line, but it's worth it! It's so nostalgic and the food is good and freshly cooked. Our favorite is the BLT with 1 whole delicious pound of bacon! I took my three girls there, and we shared two BLTs.... More

Great nostalgia!! I grew up hanging out at my grandfather's pharmacy that had a soda fountain. First job was soda jerk! So this brought back lots of great memories. My fiancé and I split the BLT. I couldn't get the sandwich in my mouth to take a bite. Our friends split a Reuben. We were all extremely happy with our... More

Crown Candy is a longstanding St. Louis tradition. Tiny place with a huge following. Be prepared for a long wait if you come during prime time. Tiny booths. Great food like you recall from your youth. And they make seasonal candies that are marvelous. When I go, I get the BLT. OMG! I think they must put 1/2 pound of... More

Came here after the City Museum. You go through a neighborhood that...makes you appreciate home. But this place is pretty good. It's cozy inside with not much having changed since it opened over 100 years ago. Too bad the 50's juke boxes at the tables don't work. The menu is good old comfort food with lots of ice cream/malts/shakes options.... More

Went with group of friends on a Saturday for lunch. Did not have to wait long which was nice. Place is cute inside but is small. Need to expand! Split a BLT, and chocolate milkshake. Not impressed with the BLT. Certainly a lot of bacon but bacon was not crisp. Also sandwich was kind of dry. Sorry, but not impressed.... More

Must try the blt it's whole pack of bacon that deep fried extra crispy on the white bread with a little miracle whip, lettuce and tomato add on a handmade real ice cream malt shake for a perfect lunch or meal that will fill you up. Definitely a must stop in St. Louis easy access off I 70. Worried about... More

The shakes are as good as the ones I had as a child at the local soda shop. The BLT is the best I've had, a meal by itself.

The setting of the restaurant is old and historic feeling. It is a neat place to see, and the food is good. The food is nothing fancy, but simple and good. Sandwiches come with bagged chips (no fries on menu). The shakes and ice-cream are GREAT!

This quaint, tiny diner serves HUGE portions and BIG flavor. The ice cream shakes/malts are unbeatable and big enough to split. One of my favorite sandwiches is the turkey melt. The BLT is ridiculous (in a good way). Go on a nice day about 45 minutes before you want to eat, and relax as you wait in line.
