This pub has excellent atmosphere in a variety of settings. There is outdoor garden seating, both under the stars and under a roof. There are also places to eat in the bar area. We had fish and chips and the corned beef brisket. The corned...More

This is a great pub that has expanded over the years to have several rooms and a patio. The food is terrific as well as the service. The music is quite lively and fun. Definitely a place to go and enjoy.

Hands-down, McGurk's has the best vibe, Irish food, and live, authentic Irish music set up in the St. Louis area. It's always a merry time at McGurk's!

We went there for dinner and drinks. My wife had corned beef and cabbage, while I had Irish Stew. Both were quite excellent. The place has lots of room, but was quite busy. We got waited on promptly and the food arrived in about ten...More

When in St. Louis...go to an Irish bar, apparently? That's where my colleagues wanted to go, so...why not? We were a larger group so we were seated in the back room. It was quiet, but a little too quiet. The menu wasn't particularly Irish, so...More

Good selection of draft beer and the food was fine. Appetizers and mains were good, but a bit disappointed in the bread pudding dessert.

Fun time on the patio today! It was the 40th anniversary for McGurks in St. Louis Soulard area. We did not know it when we arrived around 3 p.m. but when led to the table in the outdoor large bar/patio area we were given raffle...More

We visited on our way through this week. The Rueben was even better than before. They corn the beef in house in a perfect blend of spices. Exceptionally well done.

Went for dinner with two friends. We were very surprised that the place was so large and laid out well. We sat at one of the outside bars and had dinner and beers. We all three loved our food and service. If you only eat...More

I've only been there for lunch and there was no music. I'm sorry I can't help answer your question. Food is amazing, though. Now I'm hungry for their Rueben--beat I've ever eaten.

Description
Established in 1978 as a one room pub house, John D. McGurk’s Irish Pub and Garden has risen to the top of the class among the Irish Pubs in St. Louis. In fact, Esquire Magazine, in its June, 2011 Edition, saluting the best bars in America, chose John D. McGurk’s as its only bar honored in the city of St. Louis. McGurk’s is known throughout the Midwest for its great Irish music, food, drink, and its 10,000 square foot outdoor garden, complete with breathtaking landscaping, a fountain, a waterfall, and two terrific outdoor bars. Inside and out, McGurk’s is nearly 20,000 square feet of pure Irish fun. Irish musicians entertain the patrons nightly, traveling to St. Louis from Galway to Dublin, Cork to Derry. The inside of McGurks is a series of strung together dining rooms and bars. Its brick and wood décor with wonderful Irish artifacts makes one think they are enjoying a pub in Dublin. McGurk’s has become a great place to celebrate special occasions like rehearsal dinners and private banquets. McGurk’s has all the available Irish beer and spirits and serves lunch and dinner seven days a week. In addition to typical pub grub, McGurk’s offers wonderful steaks, assorted fish entrees, pasta specialties, and a delightful rack of lamb. Great food, drink, and entertainment make McGurk’s a memorable stop. We look forward to raising a pint with you upon your next visit. Sláinte!
