About
Established in 1978 as a one room pub house, John D. McGurk’s Irish Pub and Garden has risen to the top of the class among the Irish Pubs in St. Louis. In fact, Esquire Magazine, in its June, 2011 Edition, saluting the best bars in America, chose John D. McGurk’s as its only bar honored in the city of St. Louis. McGurk’s is known throughout the Midwest for its great Irish music, food, drink, and its 10,000 square foot outdoor garden, complete with breathtaking landscaping, a fountain, a waterfall, and two terrific outdoor bars. Inside and out, McGurk’s is nearly 20,000 square feet of pure Irish fun. Irish musicians entertain the patrons nightly, traveling to St. Louis from Galway to Dublin,

Great food and atmosphere! We traveled from out-of-town with a group of friends to see a concert in STL and decided to eat here. The Irish Stew was fabulous!! Great atmosphere a plus!!

Restaurant needs to clean up debris around sidewalk on southside of building. Lot of broken glass. Not very appealing. Expected maybe one or two pasta dishes.

The Guinness Stew was excellent and the dining area inside was warm and cozy. Will have to return soon as the outdoor area looked like a lot of fun.

Neighborhood Pub with some of the best appetizers imaginable. Steak was perfectly cooked. Sides all tasty and drinks mixed to perfection. DO TRY to Garlic Vinagrete salad dressing! Reasonable Pricing. Next time I want to try the outside seating area.

Been there multiple times over the years and little has changed. Irish-themed establishment with the required drafts and Irish food, along with other bar staples. Service is quick and friendly. Home-made chips are good. Worth saving some room for deserts which also have an Irish...More

I've only been there for lunch and there was no music. I'm sorry I can't help answer your question. Food is amazing, though. Now I'm hungry for their Rueben--beat I've ever eaten.
