This was a somewhat off the beaten path place with exceptional bar food. The fries were amazing! I believe it has unfortunately been replaced. I think they had better food than any of the bars on 9th street in Soulard but they probably suffered based on location and being a new place that couldn't compete with Soulard staples such as... So I decided to take some employees out for lunch and looked for closes places, and saw this was a couple blocks away. So we headed off there, knowing what I wanted before I even got there, due to some of the reviews I read. The place is small, but has a really fun atmosphere! Like a little town locals... More

We found this place while walking around Soulard looking for a warm spot to have a couple of drinks. What a great place. We walked in and Bobby the bartender greeted us like we were old friends and was quick to get us the drinks we had been seeking. He offered us menus and asked if we would like something... More

We headed in here fir some drinks. The bartender Bobby was quick with a story and kept the drinks flowing. The Patrons were fun and friendly. It's on the small side but very clean and pleasantly decorated. The kitchen gave us each half a strip of bacon as an on-the-house treat and it was genuinely delicious. We'd have ordered BLTs... We found this place by complete accident. We were searching for another restaurant and stumbled upon Sassy Jac's. We weren't sure if they would be serving dinner as we turned up rafter at 8:00 PM. We decided on the frog legs for an appetizer, which were simply amazing! I ordered the sautéed chicken gumbo. OMG it was off the hook!... More

One of St. Louis's best kept secrets - and that's too bad because everything I've ever eaten at Sassy Jacs (a dozen or so times) was tasty, well-presented, and a decent value. Best fries in town for my money!

I frequent the Soulard area for lunch, but only recently discovered Sassy Jacs. It's a block off the main drags, so you don't just happen on it. When I did find it, we were the only table for the entire course of our lunch. That's a shame, because the menu is adventurous, and the items we had were outstanding. I... More

The crawfish salad sandwich is great- spicy and yummy. The collard greens were good too. This place is owned. Y a couple- nice to patronize a small business.

I've been to this restaurant three times for dinner now and am never disappointed! Tonight I had a crawfish salad sandwich with a side of greens. The crawfish salad was a little spicy but not too much and was absolutely delicious! There's never been a crowd in here - at 5:30 tonight, my friend and I were the only patrons.... More

Finally made it to try out one of the newer restaurants in Soulard. Really enjoyed it. Had the blackened grouper with cream corn as the side. The cream corn was delicious, fesh corn and just a bit of kick. Menu was small, but enough variety to satisfy most tastes. Looking forward to another visit, maybe happy hour.
