Excellent Sushi and Fresh Salmon Teriyaki

We found this restaurant via Google Map some 15 minutes from our hotel. Parking right outside was plentiful. There were several empty tables so there was no waiting to be seated for a Saturday night. We were offered menus immediately and our Japanese tea was made fresh and hot and brought to our table as we studied the extensive menu, of course, mostly including a list of over60 different sushi offerings. We ordered a spicy salmon sushi, and a crispy Tempura shrimp sushi- the wait was about 10 minutes for the sushi and they were both fresh and tasty. Wife ordered Teriyaki Salmon, this came with two good size piece of grilled salmon on a bed of grilled onion and carrot slices, and white rice. My Teriyaki shrimps (10 shrimps) were similarly served. The salmon tasted really fresh and as were the shrimps. We did think the sauce was a little bit sweeter than we tasted overseas, but then we are in St.Louis, US. My son ordered the pork ramen, the food and serving size was good- He didn't realize the flavor was Korean based, and felt the taste was not as delicate as the Japanese style Ramen he likes. Overall our meal was most enjoyable. Service from the staff was friendly and cheerful.

Sushi like I'm used to

Just moved from LA where I was used to excellent mom & pop sushi places... and I just found one right here in St. Louis as good as my LA haunts. Top Sushi is amazingly fresh fish, tons of inventive rolls, savory miso, homemade ginger dressing, awesome fried tempura. It is quaint and quiet with a dozen little 4-person tables and some 2-person tables by the window. Very polite staff. Cute desserts. And amazingly they have bibimbop, kimchi, ramen, udon... everything I'll be craving in one spot. They are located down in a little discrete strip mall between Olive & Page, and a bit west of Lindbergh - totally worth going to find!
