Celebrated my husband's birthday at this delightful restaurant. From the artisan bread and oyster appetizer to the craft drinks and dinner selections (grouper special and pork loin) our meals were outstanding from start to finish.

Our dining experience was amazing! The staff was so polite, kind, and helpful and made us feel like we were the most important people in the world. Our Steaks were cooked to absolute perfection and the cuts of meat were so high quality, they didn't...even give us steak knives because we could cut it with our butter knives! Everything is made from scratch. The freshly made sourdough and homemade butter was an amazing starter to our meal. We will definitely be returning in the future!More

My husband and I have been going here the past two years for our anniversary. It has not disappointed and is a great spot for a special occasion in a quiet setting. The restaurant specializes in locally sourced food. Everything is from less than 100...miles from the restaurant (with the exception of some obvious seafood items). The smoked trout appetizer is our favorite. They put a different spin on it each time they have it on the menu. The menu changes quarterly, so if you like something, come often! We also had the house made sourdough bread with sea salt butter, pumpkin agnolotti, market fish (I believe it was halibut that day) and death by chocolate. I drank a southern belle. My husband had whiskey. The liquor menu is fairly extensive, along with beer and wine. A typical meal here for two will cost around $100 or more with an appetizer, 2 entrees, dessert and drinks. This is absolutely the highest quality food you will find on Main Street if you are ranking by quality, uniqueness and environmentally responsible. It's just as good as anything in Europe or the coastal U.S. If you are impressed by McDonald's, this probably isn't the place for you as I'm not sure you'd appreciate it for the price. Ask your server about the history of the house. It is called the Mother-in-Law House because a merchant built it to house his family on one side of it and his mother in law on the other. The mother-in-law's fireplace is still in the main restaurant. There are many stories that it is haunted. Your server can fill you in if interested.More

Fantastic find! This is presumably an historical old house (nicely situated halfway down Main Street), beautifully restored and cozy. My friend and I both ordered the pumpkin soup and Baby Gem salad. The soup... dreamy! We ordered sans granola but the apples and apple butter...on the side were perfect. Try it, you won't be disappointed! The salad was a slightly unique take on a Caesar salad--a cross between a wedge and Mayfair salad perhaps. The chef uses crisp Bibb lettuce and finely chopped bacon. Can't wait to visit again to try something else! Hopefully, by then, the owner will address the constant (loud) banging of some door closing in the back. It was constant and pretty distracting.More

The buiding is beautiful and off of the old cobble street on mainstreet. The outdoor courtyard is fun for atmosphere and people watching. The food is excellent and the Chef will spoil your tastebuds for other restaurants. The service was good. Try it out, you...won't be disappointed.More

Got to the restaurant five minutes before our reservation. They seated us after a couple of minutes. This was a birthday for my wife. The waitress came to the table and took our drink order. brought us the menus and really talked up that most...items were locally grown. Very nice atmosphere. She came back with our drinks. We ordered our cheese appetizer at 7:12. She came back around 7:20 and took our order. I ordered the strip steak and my wife ordered the fish special. The appetizer arrived. Three slices of cheddar cheese, a small hunk of blue cheese and a small hunk of another cheese., 5 pecans and one strawberry all for 15 dollars. I felt this was slightly over-priced. They serve our food at 7:55. Two fish dinners. Wait a minute, I ordered a steak. The server went back to the kitchen and consulted with the waitress. I watched the waitress show the manager her ipad with the order on it. The waitress came back and said your order will be up shortly. The manager came to our table 5 minutes later and said we have a slight problem. I said whats the problem. Your steak wasnt ordered. It will take another 45 minutes. I said how did that happen. He said that these things happen. I said bring me my bill. He said he was sorry and said there would be no charge. Now , there were only 5 tables occupied at the time that this is happening. I know that these things happen but this also happened to us over a year ago when the place first opened. We thought it was because they had just opened. I think its great that they have a nice atmosphere and they used locally grown food. If you cant deliver what the customer ordered none of that matters. We wont go back.More

Great lunch! The chicken salad sandwich was delicious and my friends raved about their butternut squash soup, the scallops and the chopped salad. The service was outstanding as well. We will return when we visit St. Charles.

Scallops is considered one of their signature dishes. Be aware that you only get two medium sized scallops and a very small amount of brussel sprouts/mushrooms. The scallops were gritty and it was not explained that this dish should be considered an appetizer, not a...lunch. The death by chocolate was very good. Service was also very good.More

Thank you for the feedback. We'll take this into consideration. We just recently put it on the lunch menu based on guest feedback from enjoying it at dinner.

Donna will straighten out any problems that may occur. I have never had a problem in all the years I have been going there. I don't know why there would have been an upcharge for a pickle. Doesn't make sense to me.
