Very REAL Mexican food. Not a luxury restaurant by any means but if you want Mexican culture in the St Louis area, this is a place you must go. There is your beef and chicken , and there is also cow's head and tongue. Don't judge it till you taste it!! You will be pleasantly surprised!

Made a stop for a dinner with my girlfriend and really enjoyed the food. I had some chicken and al pastor tacos. Seriously good and fresh tasting. We both indulged in a nice sized margaritas before dinner and munched on some chips and salsa until our dinner arrived. Perused a few salsa selections and ranging from smooth, salsa verde to... Everything we had was great and the prices are very responsible. The fajitas where amazing and the homemade chips and salsa where on point.

This is a little, no-frills mexican restaurant, but the food is excellent. It is very authentic too, not the American version of Mexican food, but the real deal.

My disappointing experience at a Mexican restaurant last month had me eating at my favorites in August and not trying any new ones. St. Louis has enough great ones that it's hard to be loyal to just one. I knew I had to slow down on the Mexican food eating, but there was one place I had in mind to... More

Nothing fancy about this place (e.g. items served on paper plates) but boy was everything tasty! There is both a Spanish and English menu, so you know this place is authentic. The chips and salsa were tasty, and my main entrée of chicken, chorizo, and chipotle (tinga) was delicious! And Margaritas are only $3.99! I'll be back again soon to... More

The tongue tacos were great, this was my first time eating tongue. Fish tacos were equally as good. But the tinga was fantastic and this was also a first. I highly recommend this "hole in the wall".

I love hole in the wall restaurants that provide authentic homemade food. This place makes their own salsa, chips and cooks their carnitas nice and long. It's comparable to Taqueria Durango on page ave. My wife and I ate it so fast, we didn't get a chance to take a picture.

Not sure what to expect when I first pulled into a parking place in front of La Tejana on Lindbergh Blvd just south of the Whitehall turn-around. Once inside , my apprehension was put aside. Clean and Friendly. Good service/Great food. I had the Carne Asada , my wife had the Pork Carnitas. My entree came with flour tortillas ,... More

La Tejana Taqueria doesn't look like much, being half liquor store in a strip mall on Lindbergh in St. Ann, but don't let that stop you. The service was great, the staff was very friendly, and - most importantly - the tacos are excellent! We ordered the lunch special at dinner time, which is two tacos and beans and rice... More
